A thought occurred today about the first officer system. I know it will allow us to promote a boff to first officer and then to a playable character sometime thereafter. If I want a Reman playable character will I then be stuck with him being a Sci captain? Will all Breen player characters be Tac officers? Or will we be able to change their class upon promotion? I know its a long way off and nothing is finalized but I'm having a bout of Alt-itis I want to know for future reference.
Should class changes be allowed in these cases? I've heard about the possibility of species changing being a C-Store option. Perhaps class change will be at some point too. Although I'd of course prefer not to have drop the Atari tokens to make a Reman Eng.
I was thinking this earlier. I have one BO slot left and I'd like to get my Borg Officer from KA... but its a Sci too. I just got my Sci Reman and with my Tactical... I'm kinda overrun on Sci officers now.
It would be kewl if we could pick which class we'd like.
Don't mean to sound unappreciative cus I love my Reman and he works well for some of my other characters!^^
you know....when my ship beamed me to the planet solo to do this mission all i could think of is "what the hell? I am an admiral for god sakes. Why can't somone else do this. I have 4000 people on my ship twiddling thier thumbs."

Now now, he just wants ThomastheCat to write that super exciting minigame about approving ship deployments and personnel transfers and materials distribution and all the other nasty bits of bureaucracy that comes with being a desk jockey and not out in the field
i don't mind being out in the field.
I mind being the only guy out in the field when I have 4000 people up there playing fooze ball.
I kept on thinking to myself "i bet the playable BO system was suppose to be working for this mission"

Personally I would have loved the Bio-engineer Breen and a tactical Reman. I'm still debating authorizing them access to my ship. Hakeev said his spies are everywhere and Obisek didn't even realize he had "a" traitor in his ranks. As they seem to be untradeable maybe this could turn into a Boff mission that has been asked for?

Obviously it was one of those away missions where the captain wants to go down, regardless how much the 1st officer objects about dangerous situations and regulations..
Its (in character) supposed to be a full away team mission, but the Romulans use some sort of transporter scattering field, so your senior staff is spread over a large area (if you had bothered to read the mission text, it would tell you as much)

Yes, and reading the mission text gives the me distinct impression that my admiral wasn't suppose to be the chump to beam down.

Yes and (looking at your profile pic) being a headless chicken doesn't help. lol sorry, I couldn't resist. But more to the point, I somewhat agree with you. As much as I love this game. There are WAY too many Admirals flying around doing "the heavy lifting."
As a former Navy petty officer this seems unrealistic to me, but then again it is a game.

So you are a lazy ship commander?
No. I obviously don't really know how to order people around though. Maybe I don't command respect?

Isn't that the Duty Officer system?
