sorry - this is true. I have been working on dailies but I'm running behind schedule (since I don't really have all the time in the world to make content - but I've set a bad precedence by adding dailies each series).

I got about 90% done with the shuttle crafting daily on Friday so I'm hopeful that will be in soon.

I'm also working on a Horta Crafting repeatable mission, as well as some additional melee weapon crafting missions. Not firm eta - but I will get them posted as soon as I can.
You da man!:D

So what exactly does this entail? Will they be combat "Pets/buddies"?

I guess they will be "consumable" (limited-use) attack pets.

I'm guessing it will be Pokemon style. You catch the horta, you breed them right, and you get a unique Horta that when you approach the enemy, the enemy, be a Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, what have you, will bust out their Horta (and other pets are included) and your pets will battle it out. This is what I speculate the new addition to ground combat will be once Season 4 rears its horizontally aligned head.

    gotta breed them all!

My Hortas, let me show you them!

I hope to God that this is NOT the case...

I don't know. I'd probably laugh for about twenty minutes straight, go to the fridge, grab a beer, and cancel my sub if something like that happened :)

I doubt anything like that will ever happen.

Im so confused, i thought horta were considered sentient..so why are they being used as pets?

How exactly do you craft a living sentient creature that reproduces on its own? I think the approach to Hortas is all wrong. Now horta breeding, like with tribbles makes more sense.

    Game mechanics.

Pets as in a gameplay mechanic, rather than a mildly derogatory term. Don't the Devs refer to BOFFs as pets internally?

I'm guessing they're only pets as far as drones and fighters are pets (ie mmo terms only). They follow you and assist you. The item info makes it clear that this is just a horta who wants to follow you on adventures of its own will. As for crafting, I'm guessing you take your hatchling (which is presumably replaceable through replay) and help it develop into a more mature and capable horta. Still a sentient companion, but better suited to fight enemies.

It's called eugenics. It worked for Ricardo Montalban's pecs, and it can work for you!

They will fight for you...volunteerily. I'm sure.

Hortachu (which made me laugh) would never throw him/her ... itself into danger strickly because we told it too. No, He fights for us against the machines, I mean Borg
