Episode 25 - The Coming of Gozer
4 March 2011 | It’s the episode you have all been waiting for… Paula Deen joins the show, LIVE! JK! Dan “Gozer” Griffis joins the show to let us know about his current projects, listen to Brandon’s rants about the STFs and answer 10 community-submitted questions. This week’s “Blank of the Week” features a hysterical video from the Hi Fidelity Quartet who love to serenade Trek fans with their barber-shop style of music. Aside from a visit from DJ Drew with his rumors and gossip, the news this week features information about Tribble’s updates with the long-awaited update to the Foundry and Multi Vector Assault Mode (/e squeal). Make sure to listen to the “after show” after the ending music for the four entries to our “Guest Host” Contest; once you’ve listened to ‘em, vote here: http://www.tinyurl.com/priorityonevoting. Voting will end on March 31st so you have plenty of time to listen and vote for your favorite!

To get the missions you are making using The Foundry (Beta) featured on the show, send in the name of your mission, a brief description, and your @handle to priorityone@thequantumcafe.com. Mark and Brandon will personally test out your mission and give you feedback over the air.

Mark has a call out to all Priority One fans for your ideas based on a monthly theme! Visit this thread to submit your ideas that you would like to see implemented in the game in regards to the upcoming “Duty Officer” system; this has been extended one more week and we will read them on next week’s show! We will also post March’s idea thread soon which will be about ideas for the “500 Day Veteran Reward”.

I liked the interview except for one small, personal part:
You made me sound like a jerk when you changed my question. :o
Would we ever see "official" dev-created missions created using it - like persistent dailies for sector blocks?
    was changed to:
Would we ever see "official" dev-created missions created using it - like in your off-time?
I would never ask someone to work on their day off like that. :(
That said, your guest host poll lists Option A, Option B, Option C, Option D - are these hidden people or is the voting method unfinished?

The question was still written down, so it was originally seen as is on the document sent to Gozer, when recording I changed it around a little to respond to the way the interview was going and answers already given. It was hoped this small change, intended to be my own view (as I had placed it and the end) would be to give more possible answers and flesh out the question more, to allow more scope to give an answer.

The Engine was talked about and the set of tools, from the sounds of it persistant dailies did not seem like they could be made using the Foundry from what was discussed. It was opened up so any possible answer could be given to best address the question.

I apologise for any offence caused, this was not the intent.

Thanks for including my question (even though the guy couldn't really reply it - it's as if PVP was a banned topic, meh)

I saw the original question, and I would have answered it the same way. The gist of the answer was that I probably wouldn't use the Foundry Tools to make any content (patrols..etc included), mainly because I can already use our regular toolset from both home and work.

The Foundry Tools are great, but very limited in thier scope compaired to the dev version that I use everyday. I already work from home in my spare time quite often and when I do I use the dev version of our tools.

As far as the PVP question, I wasn't just avoiding it. I don't have anything to do with the PVP portion of our game so I couldn't really answer it. There may be a vaild answer for that question, I just don't know what it is. :)

    Goz

I liked the interview as a whole though. :D

For patrol-type missions, like the dailies, would the Foundry ever be considered by the devs or at least from non-content guys trying to get in on the action?

Yeah, I think that was just a joke. These entries were fake, for the most part (Mark and I being president are in the works :p)

This is finished; we are not releasing names so it does not affect voting :) some people will always just vote for the popular kids :p
