Ok...we have diplomatic missions, We have "exploration missions". We have First Contacts. Why don't we have other pursuits such as Archeology in this game? It fits within canon and would add diversity to gameplay.
Supposedly, there were anthropology missions being added but they disappeared from the radar after dstahl mentioned them back in August/September (Zinc had mentioned before leaving too).
Furthermore, there was a second minigame that was intended for ship interiors that also disappeared.
It would be very fitting to put such things in the game, especially is the implementation stays true to life. Star Trek always tried to get the science right whenever possible, STO ought to do the same.
It was originally mentioned that Anthropology missions would be a part of the FDC, but they apparently got scrapped, much to my dismay.
Well, if they were mentioned before, there might be a chance it's still on somebody's whiteboard. FDC missions as they are now are pretty bare bones for the most part (at least, the ones you get from Jiro are), so who knows? They might show up later whenever the devs have time to work on the FDC as a whole.
It'd be neat if we could get a dev to ring in on this, though.

I asked the question in the latest Ask Cryptic and was promplty ignored by DStahl. Don't know what that means. Perhaps they only want to cater to the combat fans. Who knows.

I want more Trek missions (non-combat gameplay)!
Not all ask Cryptic questions were chosen and your question has been answered before in Ask Cryptics. The answer is yes, there will be more non-combat and eventually those long-mentioned systems might get put in.

That is good to hear.
Can't wait to have the game feel and be more Trek.
I would really like some diplomacy missions on Trill and having Trill as another major social zone.

Same thing with a science lab minigame. This was all Season 2 timeframe too.

- Anthropology
- Medical (we have a few now)
- Criminal Investigation (think Odo)
- Law (with branching dialogue and the abilitity to fail if you don't represent your case well enough)
- Colonization
And a few others I can't think of off the top of my headThat is good to hear.

I'll go mining for some answers.
dstahl had posted about anthropology (and I think I transcribed a Zinc interview that mentioned that and crafting in interiors too).
