First of all i just want to say a big thank you to Cryptic, to all those map creators, characters artists, the voice over actors, story writers and everyone esle behind the scenes for another great featured series. I've really enjoyed the episodes and i'm looking forward to tomorrows finale.
For me, the biggest success of this series was the voice acting, It really did bring the story and the characters to life. The guy who did Obisek's voice did a great job and i do feel this is the direction the devs need to go in when remastering the episodes. Cut scenes are great but not enough to tell a story. I was playing City On the Edge of Never and Past Imperfect the other day and hearing Spock and the Guardian's voice made those moments a little more realistic.
I hope Cryptic will continue to bring in more actors for future voice roles or when remastering the episodes, to do the voices of Admiral Quinn, James Kurland, Ambassdor Surah, Franklin Drake and all these other people we had to deal with in the game. I can't say it enough..MORE VOICE ACTING
this isnt a movie its a video game. what it needs is more content, missions, pvp maps, pve missions i think cryptic is on right track just need it quicker. time is always the killer.

I'm not saying those things are not important. I would love more content, missions, pvp maps etc but also think cut scenes and voice acting give those things you mentioned more depth
game needs (in my estimation) about twice the pve content it has atm.
i played at launch, ran out of things to do. quit.
came back about a month ago, did all the new stuff.
have (basically) ran out of (meaningful) things to do again...
i love voice acting and cut-scenes. i want a healthy mix of both.
at the same time i dont want too much that it takes lots of money away from actual mission content.
the balance they have struck in the recent series is just fine for me. its probably more voice acting that i ever expected to get. i think adding any more (relative to what we have now in regards to any future missions) might start to hinder development too much because of the costs.

Ya the unfortunate part for the vets is that the absorbed the material faster then it can be released. It can take a week or two for example to create a good, cinematic mission that is well tested, but it takes half an hour for a player to compelte it.
I think this is the thinking behind the foundry. A dedicated player may take a month or more to put together his vision and put it out on the foundry, but if you have a few hundred players doing that you end up with tons of cool player made content.
I think the push for the foundry is really an awsome direction, put the power of creating content for the game in the players hands, you would be suprised what the community can do. Just look at games like NeverWinter Nights 1 and 2 as examples.. Most of the player created stuff is considerably higher quality then anything officially released!
Foundry and Series with a crew working slowly remastering old content and in the long run it will pay of in spades.. in the meantime their isnt much to do but be patient.
Voice acting is nice, but they need to get the most bang for their buck. I would prefer 5 quality missions with no voice than 1 mission with. To illustrate this point, I played several extremely well done Foundry missions last night; I was litereally blown away at the story and design, and none of them had voice acting.

Yeah i hope to play all the Foundry missions when the thing comes onto holodeck. Regarding the voice acting...maybe i'm just to lazy to read
I like the voice acting and feel it makes for better missions but many factions just need good content, not great content.
Voice acting would be great for the Featured Episodes but I hope for unvoiced sorties, dailies, and other patrol-type missions to fill the gaps between Featured Series.
i think voice work in remastered eps would be a good way to attract people to replay them.
obviously if they could get a proper star trek actor then it would be awesome. Michael dorn springs to mind for adding VO to his klingon missions, and maybe for the klingon tutorial coming up.
I agree. More voice is needed. Honestly I'm kind of scared that SW:TOR is going to spoil me with it's full-voiced content. Several people that have access to SW:TOR's closed beta have been interviewed, and most of them are saying that it's hard for them to go back and play other MMO's, simply because they don't have enough voice.
I really think STO needs more voice. Nothing kills immersion more than having to read a wall of text in order to know what the plot of a mission is. This is especially true for the diplomacy missions, which are entirely dialogue based, yet all of the dialogue is text. You might as well be reading a Star Trek book. Those missions in particular need full voice, and soon.
/signed remastered Episodes should recieve serious Voice Over work.
i did say from day 1 that i want VO's and now that we have some i want even more of it, the Remastered Episodes are a perfect opportunity to add VO to them.
While I like some of the voice overs in some of the missions, I am not crazy enough to ask for it in EVERY mission. There is a place for it and there is a reason for also not having it. I think Cryptic has set upon about the right amount of voice acting now. The one big reason that I do not care for voice acting is that it adds a lot more time and cost when it is done. I am more about more content so doing it sooner without voice is just fine.
If the devs were to remaster The Kuvah'Magh and Past Imperfect missions, they should definatly bring onboard Lisa LoCicero to reprise the of Miral Paris. She's done quite few voice acting roles on older ST games...

Actually, I recall Daniel Stahl saying that theyll try to get her, but they don't know if they'll be able to due to her busy schedule. I agree, she would make a perfect addition.
And speaking of cutsenes, they really need to work on new speaking mouth-movement tech. When characters talk in cutscenes, their jaw just kind of randomly flaps up and down. I get the impression of the teacher from Charlie Brown talking when I see that for some reason.

Cut scenes are great.
I wouldn't mind if they just did some general short sentences at the start of a conversation, like what they did with Salmek the treachorous Reman.

We need more Voice Overs and Bridge Officer Voice Overs in the game.
