There's actually a couple of things I'd like to mention in this post, but for the sake of not creating multiple threads I'll just put them in this one. So to start I'll mention my idea as mentioned in the title, which is being able to play a bridge officer. I understand that down the road we will have the ability to make a current Bridge officer into a player character, but what I'm asking is if there's any way in the near or distant future if we can have missions where we play different characters (whether it's your toon or bridge officer) in one mission.
For example, I'm currently working on a foundry mission where your Captain leaves the ship under command of one of your Tac officers and the mission jumps back and forth between what your Captain is doing on the planet and what the tac officer is doing in space. I'm trying to acheive this with simple popups with descriptions of the situation with the OOC highlight. I think this would be cool because that was one thing I liked about TNG, is that while picard would be handling one thing aboard the Enterprise, Riker would be handling something else on the planet. The story would branch and follow two different characters and it all comes together in the end. Anyways, I think this would be a cool tech to add not only to the Cryptic made missions, but also as a tool for the Foundry.
My next question is in regards to the live release of the Foundry. I understand that bugs are being worked out which is awesome to me and I'm completely patient as I'm still trying to master the tools so when it does go live i can make some pretty epic stuff. My question is, once it goes live is it still going to be updated or are we waiting for it to be 100% completely fleshed out (not just fixing the current bugs, but adding more features that tribble players requests) before putting it on Holodeck?
Like I said, I'm completely patient with everything you guys put out because as of lately everything you guys have been putting out has exceeds my expectations such as the feature episodes, ESD revamp, etc.

your captain is the only character you are! you cant be you and some one else!
never mind the actual SHOW star trek revolves around a command crew and nearly all of them got screen time every episode. your one captain cant be were all the action is at all times, the game focusing only were your captain is at is a HUGE limiting factor to the quality and complexity the stories and missions could have.
just watch any episode of any show and compare that to any mission you play through in game. you cant tell me the game wouldn't be better if you could jump between members of your command crew in different places wile a story unfolds.
