I have only recently returned to see all these great new features, C-store items and content. I was going through the ship list and found the "Vulcan D'Kyr Science Vessel". I thought it was an interesting concept and heard there was an "Andorian" ship being made. I was stewing around with the ideas of non-starfleet ships and an idea popped into my mind about a possible reputation system and ( or link up with the exploration) time sink.
The reputation system would be linked up with three factions that would epitomise the respective archetypes currently in-game. Each reputation would have a means of obtaining its corresponding faction gains in the way of a point or mark tally. Upon reaching pre-designated tally scores you would gain a rank or measure of renown within said faction. With each new rank there are unlocks or 'goodies' such a a title, passive buff(minor) or to that effect. <Rank system to follow the same as diplomatic corps>
Factions are locked to the specific archetype of the player character. For the fact of cross class availability could lead to unbalanced or unfair combinations to be worked into the delicate equilibrium between character assets or abilities, Player Versus Environment and Player Versus Player.
The current orgnizations planned for this idea are "Andorian High Command" for Tactical characters, Vulcan Science Academy for Science characters, Starfleet Corps. of Engineers for Engineer characters.
