I decided to help a LT. Com. defeat the Crystalline Entity today. Beign a VA i figured if I coulld get in the same instance as him it should be a breeze. Not the case. there were about 10 feds in the instance and we couldn't do it. I wasn't the only VA either. A Mk XI purple quantum torp didn't even bring the CE down 1%. how is that possible. This thing was -32 to my level. We should have been able to kill it in no time. Is this mission ever going to be fixed. If not, just take it out! All it does is cause players needless frustration.

The entire idea of Fleet Actions from the start is that players of any skill are supposed to be able to come together and do something togather.
In fact the "only" reason it is this hard is because people were exploiting things like spawncamping with mines or abusing ramming speed.

No way this is working as intended. WE tried to call for re-inforcments and our fleet mates couldn't enter the instance. We even added them to teams to get them in. People in the instance exited to piick up our help and then couldn't get back in themselves. No way this is working as intended.

Now, saying that, I've never killed it myself. I generally find that fed side there's so much misinformation bandied about and a severe lack of cooperation between fed players that makes killing the CE pretty much impossible
I've seen the CE destroyed more than once. It requires a lot of people working together in a complicated strategy. One or two people not paying attention to that strategy can mess it up for the rest.
Sorry OP, but it can be killed, a bunch of bored Klingons did it recently.
Bored Klingons work together to beat the encounter.
Bored Feds try to grief it.
Maybe when Fleet Actions can be made private we'll see better strategies on the Fed side. Otherwise, some random chump can always be guaranteed to ruin it for others.

Infected, Cure and KA are STF's, they are not designed for PuG's.
Fleet Actions on the other hand are specificly designed and meant for that any large groups of random people are supposed to be able to walk in and complete it with half a brain.

I do not know about Cure and KA but I think that Infected is flawed. The whole jumping around over the plasma annoys me beyond end. Jumping around like Mario really doesnt have a place in this game and the penalty for falling is near instant death.
The CE works just fine... The "bug" is the 95% or so players who don't even bother figuring out how to do that mission...
The player is at fault... not the mission.
It is when the mission is supposed to be able to be completed by those 95% of the players.
Why do you think Fleet Actions are all open instances? So that only elite teams can go in and fight while the newbies just watch?
Nope, Fleet Actions are specificly designed for the average joe, not pre-mades.

I'd recommend finding a fleet or team that has run the encounter before and is willing to take charge of a 5-person team.
