as we all know, one of the biggest problems are the AFK'rs in the pvp matches - one guy can ruin the match for several other people that way. I propose that the best player of the match recieves the same reward, as one would by winning Kerrat (eg. blue X-XI item).
By that you assure it's not farmeable or exploitable (unlike Kerrat) and it would create a new influx of blue items, thus pushing down prices. It would also help the players, that choose to level up by pvp.
How to define the best player? Well, that's the tricky part. I can imagine that there are "meta-points" (not to mistake with current point system), that are awarded for 2 things:
First (and most important) is kill-to-death ratio. The better the ratio, the more the points. It would take some testing to do, but I assume that for every kill above the number of your deaths, you'd get a meta-point. It could be also awarded for certain "ratio" (eg. 2:1 - 1 point, 3:1 - 2 points etc) at the end of the match.
Second part would be awarding the same points for - let's say - each 100k damage dealt/healed. This combined system would assure, that healer builds get their fair chance, even if they archieve only let's say 1 kill the entire match. It would also assure that if someone made let's say 2 kills without dying and then withdrew from the battle, he'd get less points than players, who are active the whole time.
Kill : Death Ratio and Healing favor cruisers, don't they?
I'd simply like to see the long-promised PvP Tournaments that snix mentioned back in July.
That said, Rifts does a good job of calculating contributions from a myriad of archetypes: healers, damage dealers, tanks, etc.
Yes, and kill : damage ratios favour escorts - I think that's balanced. I'd love a pvp tourney too - but this change would be much less complicated to implement I reckon.
Oh, forgot, additional points for capping flags in Capture.
I wanted to give out some information on what's on the way for PvP in the near term.
4) Specific tournament queues that open for a fixed window of time (likely something short to start with; a weekend) that will track your individual performance and display the results with rewards given out for top honors.
More is on the way, but the above is in development (or already in testing) and should be out soon.
BF2 system, nuff said.
2 points for kill
2 points for revive (ground map)
2 points for contest (conquest map)
2 points for cap (conquest map)
1 point for 51% heal and support
1 point for 51% damage (only after the enemy died)
This is for human players only, of course. Soo much for the AI fighters/BoPs/fleet support spam.

Still waiting on the near term.
