... when I started the latest Featured Episode, Colosseum, and was completely shocked and unable to parry (sorry, in-joke of mine from my Rolemaster days) when I picked up...
... a sword.
I've wanted a sword since day one of STO, especially playing an Andorian - and there it was in my grasp! Now, that is the good news.
The bad news is you guys lost a sale on the C-Store because if I had seen some cool sword along with the cool lirpa and cool Bat'leth, I would have probably gotten it, wam, bam, thank you ma'am... but with only two weapons (one that has already been in the game for a year) that was not a purchase I wanted to make.
Add a really cool sword and I might have to buy it then!
a nice sword was noticeable by its absence. i would not be shocked if they make more weapon packs down the line. i suppose it might depend on how many people bought this one though. there are still many mellee weapons in star trek to draw ideas from.
Two ppl of my fleet bought the c-store weapon pack and they told me that the weapons are just uncommon in quality. That's the biggest issue to me, because they should be very rare.
I did see another Lirpa on the stand, it looked like a normal one except it had a wider head. I wanted that. I would GLADLY buy any and all weapon packs but 240 points just for two weapons, no matter how pretty, is a bad price.
yes, the free sword is a tsunkatse sword and i have found a green nausicaan sword which is slightly different but its random every time.
So you know, I have also found a blue Nausicaan Sword and a blue Lirpa in that area during my runs. Not only is the type of weapon random, the rarity of it is too.

I have a feeling I'll be re-running this mission until I get the weapons I want.
I think they should be rare like most of the other leveling weapons we got so far. Leveling weapons are already nerfed by design, they will always be weaker then Mk-gear. And I'm still waiting for mek'leth and d'k'tagh. Even though I'm not sure if they could come between me and my new falchion.:D
They are uncommon on purpose.
Its basicly mainly a cosmetic/ceremonial weapon with the advantage of being tierless and unlimited.
The really good and best weapons have to be obtained in game.
A Mk weapon almost always beats a leveling one. Most leveling weapons so far were rare (CRM, proton gun, TOS phasers and disruptors, Constitution phasers). The only exceptions were shuttle gear (common) and the Shard Sword of Kahless (very rare). There's just no reason to buy the pack if you get with a 100% chance a better weapon while running Coliseum. The threshold where I consider looks over efficiency is if a weapon is one quality step lower than what I could use otherwise and leveling. Two quality steps is barely acceptable. Two quality steps and leveling? Forget it.

Is that part randomized? The part where you have to run back to your cell area?

Well, I was going to PM you a little tip to help you out, but it seems you have me on ignore. So, oh well. Your loss.
