Klingons !!!

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I started a klingon now and there was a little bug so some of you klingons know it was a sort off cheat.
Kathless Expanse do that over and over and you would be captain in know time right ??? Wrong....!!!
They fixed the bug .... P'Tach They did't fix it they destroyed it .... Now you have to do 8 battle groups for an lousie 150 XP !!!
Battleing on Otha ground mission pretty dangerous !!!

Rescue 5 Starfleet pigs
Destroy turrets
Input a virus !

For an lousie 50 XP

I know that klingons don't cry but I'm Starting to .....

Point 1 : They should give some more granted XP Points
Point 2 : Make for PVP mission objectives also some PVE Like house battles or training sites.
Point 3 : Make an system worth fighting for like joining your broters in battle
Point 4 : Higher up some XP of the missions Why you ask why well I'm stuck as an LTC with noting other than finding battles !!!

And the most inportant Give points or honnor for winning a private match . You aint get noting for it ....
Better not being a klingon right now It's not funny !!!

Give honor or points for private matches..erm..NO..I'm fairly certain Cryptic has it the way because they didnt want ppl to exploit that type of reward system...and you know ppl would exploit it...

I had no issues at all grinding a Klingon, and I did mine without the content you all presently have now (mine was done after this game went live and there was basically very limited Klingon PVE content).

I also did my grind w/o experience boosts like you can buy in the C-Store..so pretty much 85% of my grind was all PVP and the other 15% was some very limited PVE.

Long story short...grinding a Klingon is far easier now than a year ago !

Indeed. I don't have one at max level yet since my repeated attempts the first six months the game was out ended in frustration and eventual deletion. They're still not done adding KDF content, but the improvement even over the last four months is amazing. The simple fact that I now can't wait to get my Gorn in his Gorn ship and actually do PvP is a testament to Cryptic's efforts to improve things.

As for teh OP - I'm sorry, are you complaining because an exploit was fixed? If you are hurting for things to do there are 3 featured episode series you can do repeatedly with scaling rewards, sorties, (again with scaling rewards and fairly valuable mat drops) and the first couple of the awesome KDF only missions. There isn't an overabundance of things to do, a problem that does get worse in latter tiers, but tier 1-3 don't suffer from that nearly as much.

If if they did fix it then the Cardie one is gonna suck big time. Kill 18 mobs 3 times by yourself. Seriously, this should be looked into. Either make it an open instance like the Federation enemy signal contacts or cut the number. Or make the experience actually worth the effort.

not a clue what bug there on about, i played kdf since release an never saw or heard of this bug, but to the person sayin that its easier to lvl as kdf now then a year ago, put the mushrooms down and stand back from that beer. a year ago lvl via pvp was insanly easy becuase there were tons of feds lvling up through the ranks and doing pvp through all the ranks where as now there is a handfull of feds doing pvp through the ranks and not alot on the kdf side to make up for the lack of pvp leveling. we have sorties and exploration go kick the hell out of feds, romys and cardasians. we have no quests through commander lvl and 1 mini chain at captain lvl. if you think that alot of pve content thats been added to the kdf then id love to know what u think next to none content is.

This thread seems to explain the reasons behind what I didn't like about PvP when I tried it, which I haven't for quite a while.

I haven't got a Klingon character because I'm just not into all that Klingon stuff. I may be in the minority but whenever I switch on TNG and it's a "Worf meets Alexander and shouts at him for not being Klingonny enough" episode, I don't bother watching. The same goes for when other Klingons turned up to shout at Worf for being in Starfleet. And then they did it all again with B'Elanna Torres' inner battle between her Klingon and human sides. Blah Blah Honohhhr, blah blah Warriohhhhrrrr.

Just my humble opinion of course.

Anyway, when I was levelling up my Federation captain someone told me that PvP battles were a great way to pick up some points, so I had a few goes at it. Every time I went in my little band of Federation pals and I were met by a huge number of Klingons whose hobby was tying ribbons around our backsides and then handing them to us.

Were those Klingons taking advantage of the only good way to grind a Klingon character at the time?

The Skill Point Values for mission gained increase with increasing levels, which makes the lower level take forever and the higher levels go by very fast, IME. I'd prefer it the other way...

Don't just do the Khaless Expanse. Do
    • Pi Canis Missions (Sortie Alpha & Bravo, and Path of the Warrior Daily)
    • Eta Eridani Missions (Alhena Fuel Station, Traelus Satellite Repair, Freighter Rescue)
    • Orrelius Sector Block Missions (3 Daily repeatable missions consisting of a total of 5 different submissions)
    • Then do some Exploration stuff.

The first 3 should yield better skill points then Exploration. And while you're doing it, stay queued for PvP and join every match you can get - even if you are in the middle of a mission. It doesn't really matter if you have to restart some maps - restarts means extra skill points for the extra fighting you need to do. And possibly, you can "unfail" the Path-of-the-Warrior objectives (I never tried that.)

they should add patrol missions to all planets that are in kdf space and the defri zone to us, that would cover 3 ranks if they break them up well, that would break the mundain factor away from leveling. if anything it would get the kdf flying about visiting planets that are under kdf control so a little exploring.

throw some quest in the pi zones like goin up against the hirogen on some of the planets, even give us our version of ghost ship. byut at the moment there is no real flow of zones for the kdf if you know what i mean.

on fed side you go through the zones and they have levels on which zones you will be in at specific ranks, they flow into each other and from each other, the fleet actions flow with them. on kdf beyond the few missions you get at start with worf an then the barge of the dead at captain there is no flow, there is no reason to be in a specific part of space, we wander aimlessly doing sorties, the weekly replays or the defri dailys and the go kill 12-14 ships of so an so race 3 times then ring me when your done which are done solo unless you go in as a team unlike feds who team for auto for there dse's when we arnt pondering around droz station or qunos waiting for a pvp Q

I could get behind a change to the kill "54" enemy sort of missions as the number needed does seem a bit excessive.
I also like teh idea of KDF patrol style missions being added as well.
Grinding sucks no matter the faction, but the KDF grind has gotten far better since release.
DO lots of PvP, it helps with both stress and SP.

They should just put it back to the drawing board and remove a lot off PVP and more PVE !
More ships because I don't think a gorn Captain fly an KDF Bird .
Maybe some Herogien missions for klingons there both warriors so that would be nice .
Certainly some faster growing at the beginning KDF and Fed side AND No nonsense about faster growing from C -Store, Because that's just rude people who can't afford it would grow slower or worse walk away from the game because they can't go fast enough .

I think they have to come with some kind off plan otherwise its going dead !! in KDF

OK that's said so if you have more idea's put him here people and if you think its good the way it is try leveling up again you see what I mean because from LTC to Captain is going to take fore ever.....
And those 3 missions is nice if you are a captain rank otherwise you will not succeed .
And PVP is mostly down there not much people on fed side using it because there is enough to do .
And if there isn't they go back to there ready room and replay until they have something new to play !!!

I never new there was a leveling exploit when I was coming up in the ranks, what a shame. I leveled my first KDF to BG on PvP and the sub-missions that come with it(turret killer, die to another etc.) my second general got some help from new content.

Now with dailies, replay, sorties and weekly content you can make LTG inside a week easy. You just need to spread yourself out to get it all.

A year ago you really had to be dedicated to get even close to that time unless you had nothing else to do for 20 hours a day.

A new player to the game probably would still complain about the content comparison but long time Klingons have quieted a lot since launch it is probably good to have fresh eyes on the situation and revoice those concerns.

DS9 brought us a lot of familiarization with the Klingons but it doesn't seem to have really played out in STO. I feel the biggest thing missing is the story about who the Klingon really are. Worf is a stoic individual where most others seem to be partiers of sorts. I think a background look into what drives the Klingons either by gameplay or a storylined cut scene it would help out the Klingons out.

I do think that a race specific storyline is warranted to define each race as part of the KDF.

Just made MG (technically still BG6) on a KDF created recently. It took me a month, which is what it took me to make the existing cap last year on my fed. If anything I think the KDF equivalent ranking happened just a smidgeon faster (last year the game was the new shiny and I hit it much less casually).

BTW - all done PVE. It takes about 23 of each of explorations to gain a rank up to Captain (with Turret Killer, Deadliest Game, etal). Captain grades slowed things down a bit (I think I have 32 in Eridon, definitely not enough to get the second accolade). Once I hit BG I did all the storylines which got me to BG2. Now I'm just checking out the defends and sorties. At MG4 I'll probably start on the featured episodes.

I cannot sympathize with those complaining about leveling a Klingon.

Leveling a Klingon is a pure pain. They should get like 4x the rewards that they do.

I found a bug a while ago that let you complete exploration missions without doing much of anything. It led to quick leveling but was complex so not just anyone could find it.
Anyways, because of my morals and ethics I was FORCED to test out this bug OVER AND OVER. Tons of levels later I found that I had enough information to give an educated and knowledgeable bug report. The bug has since been fixed.

Just what I said before its a pain trying in the early days even more.
They should turn it around a little for ensign to commander faster leveling until captain than to become admiral or general you should make a bit slower progression right .
Anyway I hope they come up with something !!
Even with starting your next captain not to do the whole pain again but start as an BO Commander as you progress true the game .
Well they working on new Klingon feature so I'm waiting for that day !!!
