So we have a nice selection of new weapons in STO, and like the falchion/Nausicaan sword, there's a huge opprotunity to really flesh out the melee weapon selection with weapons that fit different species just be reskinning weapons that already exist.
My question is, how much would the player base enjoy that? Obviously there's plenty of weapons still available to make, but a Terran Katana wouldn't be weilded the same way as a falchion or a bat'leth, so would you like to see weapons like that, or other weapons like a Romulan Teral'n, added quickly with a skin? Or would it be better if they were left out while the devs put resources into new animations and combos?
It's a matter of quality versus quantity, I believe. But the resources are spread thin, remember! It might be a long while before they can pump out any more weapons like that! So keep that in mind when weighing in with your answer!
I was really hoping with the sword animations added, that we were finally getting Mek'leth's this week.
Oh well, we've been waiting a year since that Klingon Q&A said they were "coming soon", I guess we can wait another month or three where they'll hopefully be in the ground combat upgrade.

I think I could totally see the mek'leth just being a reskin. But weapons like a katana or a teral'n would need to new animations and combos to do them justice.
