I am not usually a fanboy... but this was by far the best mission of STO to date. It's absolutely awesome and I enjoyed it a lot, especially the last desert part. Thank you Cryptic and good job!
i dont know if it the best. i like the dividean one at halloween i forget the name but that was super cool with noices creepy voices and spiders. but this episode is def. up there as one of the best. really like the rewards. like the way you fought in melee then later you could use your gun. puzzle wasnt too hard was nice.

I personally think this is the first one to surpass the Devidian one you're talking about. That one was great. It was dark and it had the creepy bonnie kin guy. It felt like a survival horror game in that mission.
But this one has sweet new melee weapons, awesome voicework for Obisek, the epic giant worm fight, a massive desert (players have been asking for massive ground maps for a while, now we finally got one), information about the Iconian's strategy for taking over the quadrant, one of the coolest songs ever, and a sweet ending.
Devs, I can't say this enough, keep up the good work. You guys are doing an awesome job.
I agree - Hakeev sounded much better this week. The audio team has been knocking it out of the park lately.
What would have made the end of the episode much much better, is a cut-scene of one of your BOs feverishly working at the transporter controls with a little dialogue with one of your other BOFFs on the bridge saying something about locking onto his signal. Then you say something to Hakeev, like he will never get away with it, and beam out onto your transporter pad with the final cut-scene of your BOFF say, "I have him", switches to a BOFF on your bridge that says, "Let's get out of here" and your ship warps out.

Just saying the ending was kind of poof.
Problem with that is, our characters and BOs wouldn't have been voiced, and IMO a cutscene mixed between voiced characters and non-voiced characters would have felt very strange. Given that fact, I think it's fine the way it is ( although I agree that a shot of the ship warping away at the end would have been neat.)

Is there any official reason why Obiesk sounds different now than he did in the first 2 episodes? He originally had a distortion to his voice(sort of like the Remans in Nemesis), whereas now he just sounds like a normal guy with a deep voice.

He's an Undine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....er.....maybe not. That would be one plot twist too many this series....lol.

His delivery is slightly different. He used more beats (like a short pause) during the first set of dialogue but now that he's befriended us, his speech pattern has changed. Men and women do this with strangers vs. friends all the time.
When we met him, he wanted to intimidate us - we were intruders in an armed ship. When I started this mission, I was on his side and a semi-trusted ally (enough that he'd let me destroy the weapons, if I saved his people).
I'd chalk it up to an evolving relationship with him (from being threatened by us to needing our help) and slightly better direction.
The mission itself was good. MY only complaint was the Amok Time music. Odd I know but It wasn't that it was included but that it just replaces the batle music. IT felt odd when it kicked in. To me it would have been better if IT kicked in when the announcer started introducing what I was going to be fighting via the cut scene.
My MAIN problem with the mission was the story so far set up. I have no kinship wiht Obisek. I felt nocompulsion to help him. In face I face palmed when he was explaining his situation. He is still working wiht WMD's. He has drawn me into a conflict and painted Starfleet as an Ally of the REman REsistance last time I met him despite my objections. The entire encounter last mission left a bitter taste with my captain and crew. I feel we broke the Prime Directive and that we may have inadvertantly started a war with the al Shiar.
To the games credit I had a decline button for the mission. However it's liek the old Rambo game. "The game can't start unless you say yes."

I would love that, and I never PvP.
I totally support this idea and/or suggestion!

This week's was awesome and I think it's my new favorite mission in STO. Cryptic, you really out did yourselves with this one as far as I'm concerned.
GOOD JOB!

That would be nice.
I have the idea and I'm voting yes on Proposition STO-91.
