Is it 2410 in the game?

I got the impression from the stardates mentioned in the tutorial (which equal the release date) and in a feature episode (which was the date of that episode's release) that in-game the stardates lined up with real time. That would mean today is February 26, 2410 in the game. Other players, based on the captain's log stardates, say we're already in 2411. Alternatively (and confusingly) we could be frozen in 2409 still.

I'd like to hear a definitive answer from Dan Stahl or another dev. Does time flow in STO? If so, how? If not, are we stuck in 2409 forever?

i hope not because im regarding every 2nd February a new year in STO timeline (regardless of what Stardate says) because thats how the years advanced when TNG went on air in 1987 until Voyager in 2001 (pretty much)

in fact, i regard STO now in 2410 no matter what anyone says :D

Being stuck in 2409 would be really stupid... thats what lotro did, and I hated it. Everytime you go back to the Shire, youre turning the pages back to the part before Frodo left or whatever. Its just dumb...

Yes and no. It depends on where you are in the storyline.

The intro has 2409 still, I believe. However, many quests since launch are in 2410.

2409 was the beta, 2410 was launch, and if you calculate the stardate from logs, It is 2411 in game. The game follows the TNG stardate method, where every 1000 in stardate is one year, and time flows in real time in game.

According to my most recent log, from today's mission, the currect stardate is 88761.74. Using the following stardate calculator, which is based on the TNG-DS9-VOY scale, this equals Earthdate October 6, 2411.

Now I personally use the 2411 year for my RPing, but I prefer to use todays date, exactly 400 years hence. I am curious how Cryptic chooses the current in-game stardate...

Either way, it appears that we are currently experiencing the year 2411 in-game.

    I use that site too.

Technically, the player tutorial is 2409 but the game progresses depending on where you are. :)
