Those goldfarmers are still using those exploits, and honestly I don't know why CSR hasn't busted them. In fact, one in particular right this very second is purposely taking advantage of the reset, where he gets all the loot, while everyone else does his work.

Lame tactic if you ask me.
Actually I quite enjoy Kerrat lately If you don't like it, don't go there - simple as that.

whilst it is true if you dont like it dont go there, its not great if someone has found a loophole that steals peoples rewards. people should not go there because they dont like it, not because its broken.
id rather see ker'rat have a big makeover rather than completely nuked. i think the idea of the zone is fine just not well executed.
Never said I didn't like it. I just hate the verious bugs and exploits that are in it.
There aren't that many. I spent a lot of time there lately and I have seen only one instance of a (probably) goldfarmer, who I have reported and I havent seen him ever since. The bug where you switch sides is sometimes funny, but it's nothing gamebreaking.
With that being said, I don't mean to say Kerrat is perfectly okay - it isnt. But it's fun, it's a social hub too - before it gets nuked, we need something better.
Suggestion for Kerrat though: remove the bloody dialog windows, those are annoying as hell, they decloak people randomly and it's really not necessery to read the same TRIBBLE like 50x over and over.

Honestly, since I spent there some time, I think some people are actually complaining because they don't know how it works. I should know, I was there too - I had no idea how come some other guy was always first while I tagged all the nodes. Must be haxx! Well... it wasnt hax, it was just him being cloaked next to that borg repair thingie waiting for others to tag the nodes, so he could easily kill 3 of those small cubes before others even got into position.

Not exactly a postive hub if you ask me, the zone chat is always have some degree of things CSR would give infractions for.
But there are a few threads that suggest what Cryptic can do with the zone. Most agree just remove the Borg and just make it a plan ol Open PvP zone.

The thing that draws most people there is the simple fact you can get awesome items from the Borg. If you remove the NPCs and their drops, the zone will die.

maybe not in those instances you where in but Its been proven that it can be TRIBBLE to the point where the dstahl himself said he wants to nuke it. something is fishy in that zone.

Well... it's far from ideal. Also the types of people that go there... there are gankfests every day and klinks with feds taunting each other. The zone chat is much like old WoW Barrens chat - it's fun though.
Kerrat is the only single player zone i know of that drops mk xii loot which is sad to say the most powerful equiptment on your starship weapons.
I love how people are really craft like crazy to get an item TRIBBLE + dmgx2 while a single mk xii green with the TRIBBLE is about as powerful if not more then the purple mk xi craftable item. Its not impossible to beat a farmer at his own game as well if you go in there as a team. It doesn't take skill to scan notes without getting agro however it does take skill to stay alive to kill 3 or 4 hulks after another. No farmer stays alive that long.
Besides you want to close it for farming ? Then best is you start closing all the Nebulas and Expanses whwere you can scan anormalies because they are pretty high on the market as well. Oh yeah and why you are at it you might want to find the exploit for the 8 hour skill bonuses as well, doubt they were intended to be 500k EC on the exchange when cryptic sells them for almost 800 cryptic points / atari tokens.
You can't get rid of farmers and i honestly don't see what you think they get you don't. The end loot for Kerrat if you are the winner of the round is mk x or mk xi blue which unless you get a torpedo launcher worth the while is pretty cheap TRIBBLE since season 3 and the worthlessness of blue items.

Honestly... I think it's just part of the nature of PvP. You put people in conflict, they will also express themselves verbally (or textually). Any concept of war zone - even one with territorial combat - will lead to such things.
The only thing that you can do is:
- Don't add to the noise.
- Report where people break the rules
Eventually, if people get more and more infractions and see their chatting or playing rights at risk, they will either stop, or soon be gone.
maybe not in those instances you where in but Its been proven that it can be TRIBBLE to the point where the dstahl himself said he wants to nuke it. something is fishy in that zone.
Something is fishy alright, its fishy that cryptic doesn't bother to fix it. How hard can it be to put more borg in there to position them in a way that you don't get a free scan without getting shot at. There would be no farming going on that much if there was indeed a challange. Farmers can't pvp or pve. Make Kerrat a challange and you won't see any farmers anymore they will move on to Btran where lots of them are lately.
1.) Scanning part on a timer form when the first node is activated.
For best effect it requires that people actually work together to scan 8 quickly before time runs out.
2.) Stronger and Regenerating borg repair docks. Impossible for one or two persons to take down alone, requiring a team effort to not only destroy them but others to hold off Borg ships.

Oh come on mate... I mean, people have problem pugging Infected and you'd do this to them? No... I think the concept of a zone where you simply grind powerful mobs with pvp enabled is just fine. In fact I'd cancel the mission altogether...
Could someone please explain to me why Ker'At is so bad? I never understood it. The only thing I ever focused on in that mission, the precious few times I played it, was not getting insta-killed by the Borg Cubes.

The main problem is that Kerrat is/was abused by chinese goldfarmers, who use hacking programs to seriously TRIBBLE the zone up. Teleporting, running thru walls and other bug exploits can make people frustrated. Luckily Cryptic managed to get rid of them mostly.
Also, it's a gankfest in there and several pve-oriented people find that offensive.
They should really import the same idea as SWG had with the Kessel system:
Have a really huge, open pvp zone with two dreadnoughts/fleets from either faction that are incredibly hard to kill. Have them on a respawn timer when one is destroyed. People can get rewards like they do in fleet actions. If you come in and a bunch of Klinks are assaulting your fleet, fight them off or destroy theirs. This would be really fun...even have side objectives or something.

You forget they dual-box, so they would still be on top of things.
The only way to get rid of them for sure is have rewards granted only for whose who participate in the War Zone Dailies. Borg NPCs loot tables are tweeked that they no longer drop anything good (I.E they drop consumables and repair parts).
And of course Cryptic should get on the ball in making Rare and Very Rare Craftables "bound on pickup" like they originally were. The Exchange is flooded with Very Rares right now, it's really contributing to the massive inflation of the server's economy.

Your first idea would ruin any zone, because most people would no longer come there for any good reason. Some people are drawn there for the loot, some people are drawn there to gank those who grind the mobs and some people are drawn there to hunt the gankers. By destroying the loot system, you also destroy the player system the zone has.
Your second idea is even worse, because it would actually damage the economy really badly. Imagine the situation like now, where everyone has a huge chunk of money. Then make some essential crafted items from boe to bop, so they become very rare on the exchange. Great recipe to make things like very rare weapons ridiculously expensive (as demand would far outweigh the supply). This would in turn force the people to grind up the crafting level, which in turn would make the crafting materials ridiculously expensive (even more than they are now).

I doubt that since the majority of people who go in Ker'rat or N'vak are doing mainly doing it because of the missions.

Not true, there is just too much supply and little demand. And VR items are already expensive in taking advantage of the economy of VAs leveling up new characters. But in the long run it's not going to solve the STO economical situation.

You misread. They dont do it because of the mission but because of the loot (which drops from mobs, getting the first and second place rewards is just a bonus). The rest goes there for pvp which is fun too.
"Too much supply" drives the prices DOWN, not up. *sigh*

True, but then factor in the inflation of currency. And there are penty of multi millionare VAs out there.

Actually I don't think the inflation is that terrible. The price of several items I check regularily (aegis, certain data samples) has not changed last few months. If anything, the price of Aegis set gets lower and lower.
To all that can't stand the farmers.....anyone up for forming a joint KDF/FED task force to hunt them down?
I am not really into making such organized attempts (I lurk around Kerrat almost every day tho), but please, do tell me, how do you recognize a farmer? Because after many days I see several people being constantly on first places in Kerrat and I know all of them not to be Chinese...
There was one guy who was a farmer (he even whisped me some angry stuff in Chinese after I hunted him down a bit), I reported him twice and I think the banhammer stroke him hard, as I havent seen him around for ages already.

There is a glitch in the scoring system where they will have points way too high for what you could normally get in Ker'rat. That would be a hint.
It's real easy to stop the farming in there. Make the loot rewards from the Ker'rat game bind to account. So if you win you can trade it to your characters if you want.
Or just remove the item rewards from the Ker'rat game and make it merit and skill point rewards.
