Well not sure if Devs or anyone involved with creating the uniforms know this but the change that was made to the film version of the uniform is not cannon there is a white line that wraps around the shoulders if you seen the films there is no such line, at the very least you should have made a option in tailor to change it but it is bound white for some reason. i usually dont rant about this sorta stuff but if it labeled Film uniform then it should look like the film uni not some uniform that you slapped together in preperation for a patch for next week.

    Glitch.

The trim is supposed to match the shoulders, but for some reason, it's not a selectable customization area. It'll retain the color of whatever uniform you switched from was using in that slot.

It's really great for making a non-ugly Admiral's variant if you do it in gold and the rest in canon. ;)

    No problem.

Personally I hope they intend to make that area a selectable customization zone. I can think of some cool uses for the trim alone that would be enough to tempt me into switching out my B-01 uniforms on my toons.

as long as it's not visible as a trim when you don't want it to be, fine with me

Summed up the current issues on Tribble in another thread, but I'm reposting them here for quick reference:

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    PROS

    - Combadge models are now PERFECT. Great work, guys! :D

    - Costume modelling much, much better - all the new improvements, but none of the glitches!

    CONS

    - Costume colours are two murky and desaturated. We need richer colours, and 'truer' black.

    - Trousers (ok, pants...) are closer to the right shade, but tops are WAY too faded.

    - Combadge colours are the opposite - TOO vibrant, almost 'orange' for the backing. Needs desaturating to a proper 'gold' colour.

    - TNG pants are now darker than the TNG Series tops, so they no longer match.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Hopefully there's still time to get these last remaining 'gremlins' tweaked in time for the imminent patch - other than these few, the uniforms are pretty much finished (bar the TNG series tops, obviously!).

Good thing I don't use that badge lol

Posting the following image from the latest TRIBBLE build (.8), and as mentioned, the colors do look washed out, and a bit too grey (more grey than before).

Made a rough edit of the TNG uniform to show how it -should- look. Note that all comparisons are made using the bottom-left black option, and all uniforms use exactly the same pants.

    Clicky

Glad to see the thick black outline disappeared now, but the rest... needs fixing still.

EDIT: By comparison, this is how the DS9/VOY uniform -should- look: Clicky again

Yes I also confirm this fix to the test server, thanks for putting up comparison screenshots.

The fix is an improvement but is still greatly unfinished.

    Black just isn't Black.

That glitch has been spotted and fixed for Holodeck - on my Fed character, that's not an issue:

Combadge model/uniform texures = good. Colours = eh, not so much...

Great job on the fixes to this uniform on tribble dan and character artists!! :) thats from the heart

but a side note, i cant get my ds9 or tng film jacket the black like it used to be and now the pants are slightly blacker than the jacket. could you take a look into this and let me know if this was intended bc i liked that pure black on the pants and id like the ds9/tng movie jackets to match that good black you guys made.

still good job on the fixes, nonetheless :)

Because you are playing a male character (like myself). But try this badge on one of your female BOF's in combination with the TNG/DSN/VOY uniform and you see (on Tribble at the moment) the issue. Looks like a problem linked to the female character models. So, lets hope it is (or get) fixed, along with the black colour issue.

Sorry - didn't make myself clear earlier. The glitch is indeed only for Fed female characters, and it's been confirmed as fixed for the Holodeck patch.

Those badges also seem to be clipping pretty badly now on Females if the slider is set anywhere above 2.5 (half)

It wasn't this severe before, at least.

But the Holodeck update is not out yet. Tribble is more up to date since they just got the update that will be out tomorrow for Holodeck.

Taking into account all the feedback, one of our team stayed late to get some fixes in quickly for you guys.

Here is a screenshot of the new uniforms/badges. http://twitpic.com/41b60d/full

There is a known bug with one of the female badges (the badge got flipped on export), and it will be fixed soon.

Also, some people have requested for us to add a variant to the TNG Film uniform with an extra color tinting option for trim around the shoulder pads. We will try to add this when we get the patch for the female badge.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Cheers,

    Matt

Thanks for the reply and pic Matt, and many thanks to that team member for doing so.

    That is beyond awesome.

Looking forward to more fixes in color matching and making VOY shoulders and DS9/TNG Movie Undershirts more rich in color.

    Thanks.

let that dev know his extra work is greatly appreciated, quickly addressing these issues is very reassuring. now the pants need the same update the tops got so the colors match again.

I'm aware of the color problems with the new TNG/DS9 updates, specifically the inability to make them as dark as the rest of the parts in STO (more specifically, the TNG pants)

I'll see what I can do to fix this up for yall.

    Also, to be clear:

While the artist for the TNG Film and DS9 uniforms was working hard today to make updates to those uniforms and badges, I took a bit to do some small changes to the TNG Series uniform you were requesting.

I updated the TNG Series uniform top, and the TNG style split bottom pants, so that the textures would render better, and so that the colors would be able to support black tinting better. (They now are able to get to a proper level of darkness) I also fixed up some of the nasty color bleeding that was occurring on the TNG Series jacket.

These changes should have been in the patch notes.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Are those the same versions that are currently on Tribble right now? If they are, with the game lighting the darkest black on the TNG Film uniform top, now looks like a light grey color compared to the pants now being a dark black with the same exact color selection.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was typing this before I saw your newest post confirming you were aware. :)

Thx Matt, as people said before, its very appreciated. I mean these optical things are no game breakers or something, but still important to a lot of us. So its nice to know that you guys adress all of it so quickly.

And to let you guys know: Your work on all of the costumes is great! The canon ones are the hardest of course, and sometimes little things can go wrong, but all in all you did a good job so far and the improvements are awesome! :)

Edit: Oh, and you guys deserved some romulan ale for these nice looking romulan costumes. I love them!

they look better, but as others have said the black of the TNG MOVIE top and pants doesn't match still, so hopefully that will be fixed soon.

also the TNG MOVIE uniform still has a few inaccuracies, I made a comparison image here:
