Starbase 357 Recruitment Thread

Starbase 357 is now functional and online, accepting docking requests from all Federation vessels.

Our goal is to not be the typical fleet. To achieve this we do not adhere to the “fleet” command structure. We are here to enjoy our Star Trek experience not have others tell us how or what to play. With this in mind Starbase 357 has no rank structure within it. Through your efforts and hard work you have earned the rank of Captain and having to run around like an ensign is insulting after all those efforts.

We intend to function under the basic ideas of a Starbase. That means we offer a central access for our Captains to share information, resources and a place to fall back to when needed. By sharing a common base of operation we can assist each other as needed and maintain the independence that has made great Starship Captains in the past like Kirk, Picard and Janeway.

We offer access to our own dedicated subspace (vent) channels, as well as our R&R facilities, R&D faciltities and posting services. Starship Commanders of all rank and experience are welcome. If your interests are ANYTHING involved in STO then we are interested in you.

    I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a Starship Captain. The position may, in the eyes of some, be a lonely one. But we who know the work which a captain has to do believe his is a Nobel Calling. Our proudest moment is to seek out new live and civializations. Under the impulse of are engines, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.

    Starbase 357 welcomes all captains to are site. We're more based on the idea that everyone is a captain. Starbase 357 is more of a laid back site with casual roleplaying and networking. We believe in everyone as an equal.

    Tired of being one of the masses while some obscure leadership makes the decisions? Want to have a say in what your group does and feel like you are more than a grunt in the trenches? Hate being forced to wear Ensign or Leutenant pips on your collar after you busted your butt to make Admiral?

    If any of these apply to you then I invite you to consider Starbase 357. Rather than building a deep chain of command we have tried a different approach, we are a Starbase, that means a central resoruce to share resoruces, work together from and enjoy comradery.

    If you are tired of the same old fleet strucutre and want to try something new and open then check out Starbase 357.

    As we begin the new year we invite you to look at Starbase 357, an STO fleet with a new attitude.

    Gone are the old rank structures that makes one member feel beneath or inferior to another. Instead we embrace the philosophy that all members are equal and should be treated as such. Can this be RPed? Sure it can! After all you are the Captain of a Starship after all, a distinction that deserves respect.

    Rather than focusing on a fleet structure SB357 focuses on giving it's members a central hub. A place where they can pool resources, skills, material and experience to help each other. You get from SB357 what you put in and have no demands placed upon you other than the ones you create and desire.

    Want to be a leader at the Starbase, anyone can be, it just involves acting like a leader. Not giving orders or instructions but showing through example the way to get things done. You EARN the respect and responsibilities you gain through your actions and actions alone, not some formula based on how long you where in the fleet.

    There is no glass ceiling at SB 357, founders do not hold any more importance than the newest member. Your actions not when you joined determine how far and high you can go, your future is yours to control

    IF THIS is what you desire, a chance to make make your mark in STO and on an STO group then Starbase 357 wants you.

    If you want a rank title just to say you have it then look elsewhere, but if that title means nothing and the respect of your peers earned through your actions and hard work is what you value, the SB357 is for you.

    With the open of the Starbase 357 lounge we also have put in a casino for the relaxation of the Star Fleet crews visiting the facilty. To that end we have begun dabo girl audtions. These are open to all Federation officers to attend :D
