I have a question regarding contacts...

So as the title says, I have a question regarding contacts. Say that I spawn an Excelsior Class ship contact ok? Will it fight on the Federation side? Because you can choose your allied ships on the contacts ships down to the exact class. Where as the standard Federation mobs just randomly choose types of ships, and you can't name them. Thanks for any answers!

    This may have been changed for ground contacts, so I'm not sure if it still works the same in the latest version. Others will know more specifics, but I've played ugc missions where I've warped into a full scale space battle between two factions.

    Well it is very easy to make full scale battles using standard Fed and Klink (Or whatever enemy you want) NPC's. What I want to know, is it possible to make ship contacts fight? Not normal freindly mobs or enemy mobs, but contact ships.
