Toolbar Mess-up FIX pls

I would really love Cryptic to fix the crazy Toolbar.

Today I was in the shipyard using the "choose a ship screen "and deleted a few older ships. I did not change my current ship. Once done and back in space my toolbar was completely messed up once more. I knew it always messes up when changing a ship but without changing anything this was just ridiculous.

Even if ou change a ship the skills not affected SHOULD ALWAYS stay in the toolbar slot I have put them in. the "maybe changed" BO skills should end where the other BO skills been placed before.

I dont know is it soo hard to save a Toolbar template and replace the logic skills when changing?

All Captain skills for example dont have anything to do with my ship and they could stay untouched where I have put them but ofc even skills that are not effected by a ship change at all get messed up.

One of the most annoying things for me playing STO is to resetup the toolbar every know and then....

It's something I'm sure they'll address in time. It's been requested as long as I can remember.

In the mean time when changing ships, this might come in handy:

yeah it needs some love all-round. My main problem with it is that i don't have enough quickslots for my abilities.

They really need to do something about the crazy action bars that seem to think they know better then you where abilities should go.

I got a surprise the other day when I logged in to find most of my Transwarps had removed themselves from my action bars for no apparent reason (I guess the UI decided it knew better then me and I didn't really need them after all ).

There's a fix for this... You can set your Quickslot bar to "3", so you have 3 rows of ten powers. This makes your Weapon and BO bars vanish, though. So you can use the following bind to get them back, so you'll have a TRIBBLE ton of slots on screen. Downside is, you have to hit the bind each time you zone or exit.

I call it "Red Alert", because when I press it, my BOs snap to attention and my weapons menu comes online.

Anyway, the bind itself is: /bind [KEY] "genjailadd Hud_bridgecrew_trays_root$$genjailadd Hud_weapons_root"

Sometimes when you warp into the Deferi sector missions my "locked" tollbar will drop one or two of my transwarp options?

now with the mission you have to go with a shuttle this is really annoying.

I read somewhere that Dan said your toolbars should be as you left it if you switch back to your previous ship.

If others can at least aknowledge that their toolbar never messes up I would know that I am bugged but talking ingame to others makes me think that the "fix" for that Toolbarmess isnt more than a developers dream...

    any help appreciated

Someone else posted a workaround that goes something like this:

While in space open your Power Menu (default P); go to the very bottom of the menu; check the box that says "lock powers"; go to shipyard and switch to your shuttle; when you return to your other ship from your shuttle make sure that you have BO assigned as they were before you went to shipyard above.

That is what I do but if you miss a step or forget the order of BO in you assignments page it can messe up what power actually show.

But, I agree, there needs to be something done with this and I would suggest that it be addressed BEFORE the upcoming new system coming in Season 4.

I changed ships like you said with assignments fixed (ofc same seats for BOs) before loading back into space. This method even worked sometimes but today I changed to the captains yacht did "the vault" and switched back to my star cruiser. It even removed some powers that usualy get put elsewhere on the toolbar but this time 6-8 specials got lost and had to be reput from the Power Menu into the toolbar.

PS even without changing anything my DS9 Transwarp often ends up in another toolbar only by flying around (systems / sector) in the same ship.

Although toolbar layouts now persist when switching ships, they're locked to the ship slot rather than the ship itself.

If you have three ships with their own layouts: USS Alpha, USS Beta, and USS Gamma, deleting the USS Beta will also mess up the toolbar for the USS Gamma.

If you fancy a chuckle, try moving round the shuttle pets and fireworks in your inventory, and watch them dance around in the toolbar.

Known problems. Old problems. No sign of a fix in the near future.
