i suppose it's plausible that they'll be released at some point in the future. I thought I read somewhere that the developers are reworking the tutorial so it's possible they might make it (for the Federation) starting at Starfleet Academy. So maybe they'll include it there...or as part of a C-store add-on.

Sounds good to me, although the image of Tom in a cadet uniform is actually Robert Duncan McNeill's earlier appearance as a different character, Nicolas Locarno XD

    Let's not forget the DS9-era cadet's uniform.

Or, just for kicks, the acting Ensign uniform.

Jeff-El, is that one supposed to be the slightly-more-subtle equivalent of a "Kick Me" sign? You put it on someone and they get aggro on everything, including non-hostile and friendly NPCs? <.<

Those first two uniforms aren't only cadet uniforms. They're also the Wrath of Khan era NCO uniforms (see here) so I'm all for adding them to finish up the Wrath of Khan set. I could see a similar usage for the other uniforms as well so I wouldn't be against them if I were the type to oppose additions to the game, which I'm not.

"Cadet pants" are already in the game, actually - some of the NPCs have the tight pants with large pockets. The option to add them is sadly still missing from uniform customization (what an oxymoron), though.

    will we get it?

You can pretty much make this (minus the rectangular pips) with the TNG series uniform shirt, using black for the first two colors (body) and red for the third (shoulder/collar). I use this scheme on some of my captains, but use department colors instead of giving everyone red. You could probably make the other TNG one just as easily by replacing the black with gray.

Sign me up as someone who favors cadets as "from scratch" craftable bridge officers and "Acting Ensigns" inspired by Wesley who are non-promotable but can multiclass ensign-level skills. (ie. four ground ensign skills, four space ensign skills, taken from all three classes -- kinda the opposite of a universal BO slot).

How else are other players going to know which boff is your least favourite?

I have to admit that the DS9-style uniform could probably be created using the existing uniform options.

interesting trivia: The ST 2-6 cadet uniforms were actually the costumes left over from the Motion Picture, dyed and recut. Since we're getting the Motion Picture uniforms soon.. it seems like the ST2-6 enlisted/cadet uniforms should be a piece of cake from an art-asset perspective.

maybe have it for use in doing the tutorial, but be able to keep it as an additional reward

I won't be surprised if most uniforms seen in the series are released eventually, I just hope for some more current era variants...

This times infinity. Basically right now you have "cloth" and "leather" uniforms, and only about one or two of the leather-styled ones are decent. All of the "A-series" uniforms are pretty bland, and the only time you see anyone wearing one, it's an NPC.

Yup my thought's exactly, I have never once used them as apart of my uniform (and I have used most of the B-Series a few times)

It's a shame really. I like the patterns of the B-series uniforms, but I don't like the rubbery "plastic" look. If they could just redo them as "cloth" uniforms, I think they'd all be really awesome.

You could probably pull this off with the late DS9/First Contact Uniforms; just change the colors.

The costume sets are a bone of contention for me. None of them are adequately finished.

The TNG set, for example, should have included ALL the uniforms used in TNG.
    The onepiece jumpsuit
    The onepiece skirt
    The Admiral's onepiece jumpsuit
    The Dress Uniforms
    The Season 3+ two piece
The various other Admiral's uniforms (perhaps one uniform with a lot of customizability)
    The Cadet uniforms
    The Doctor's jacket
    The Captain's jacket
    and so on.

TOS should have included ALL the TOS uniforms
The one-tone shirts from the Cage
    The dress uniforms
    The standard shirts we have
    The skirts
    The Captain's alternate uniforms
    and so on.

I've been giving some thoughts lately to uniforms and RP tools, and here are a few things that jumped out at me:

    1. Would it be possible to convert the TWOK uniform in game to accept actual rank insignia? And if so, can we get the TWOK era rank pins, so that when we use that uniform, our entire crew isn't the rank of "Captain"?

    2. The diplomacy uniform - It's essentially the DS9 / Nemesis Dress Uniform. However, when you apply rank insignia to it, instead of appearing on the collar, it shows up on the right breast panel. It looks rather odd, and the ranks seem rather large there. Could we tone that down a bit, or possibly choose if we want the rank on the collar (as per canon) or on the right breast panel?

    3. There are several Admiral uniform variants that are not currently in game. (See my post HERE) Could we look at getting at least some of these added? Especially the wildly popular DS9 Admiral's Uniform?

    4. Ranks for Bridge Officers - In most cases, the Adjutant to a Flag Officer (Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral) would be of Captain rank. Furthermore, usually the Commanding Officer of an Admiral's flagship is a Captain. (IE Captain Erika Benteen of the USS Lakota, Admiral Leyton's defacto Flagship) So, would it be possible to give our Bridge Officers the rank insignia of Captain? They would still be ranked as a Commander by the game itself, and would still be limited to Commander level abilities, but it would make more sense from an RP standpoint for those who decide to be a Rear or Vice Admiral.

    5. Vanity Titles - could we get a couple of RP vanity titles added? Ones such as "Commodore" and "Fleet Captain" both of which were used in canon at one time or another, and are widely used by fleets and guilds as well. Also, for those who RP soldier groups, having some additional vanity titles for the NCO ranks would be good. (Private, Corporal, Seargent, etc.) I believe people have asked for some other ones such as Doctor. Could we get some of these titles added in?

    Thank you for your time.

I agree. Would really love to see the wrap-around variants from TOS.

Also, the "Where No Man Has Gone Before" / "The Cage" uniforms.

One other thing is it would be nice to get some accurate TOS boots for Males. Female characters and BOs have the TOS boots, but none of the Male boots look just right. Also, it seems after watching some episodes of TOS recently, that the Cutoff pants for the TOS uniform, should have a slightly wider flare at the cuff. Not much wider, but just a little.

I think what I'd really love to have though, more than anything, is Scotty's tool vest from Star Trek V. My Engineer would really love to have that.

    *coughs*

Before you're demanding 50 new uniforms, half of which only showed up on screen on a single occasion, I would like to add that the Klingon faction is still missing some very basic stuff. Just for the record. :P

I don't recall anyone stating that these suggestions should come at the cost of ignoring the KDF's needs in this arena.

I completely agree, the KDF needs some major love in the uniforms and costumes department as well.

I would say however, that part of the problem with Klingons is their costumes and uniforms didn't change much from series to series, and so there aren't as many variants and missing pieces that aren't already represented within the KDF tailor options.

True, true. I was just a bit "shocked" to see that, after the initial suggestions, the list in this thread quickly grew to so many different things that people feel are "needed", instead of discussing prioritization. Apologies for overreacting.

It's true, we don't need that much - which makes it feel even more wrong that we do not have the few iconic pieces that canon has shown. Primarily (from the wishlist posts in the KDF sub-forum) we'd like to have the TNG/DS9 warrior armour (M+F), a sleeveless vest (ST:V), the long "Officer" coat, and of course the classic "Duras-sisters" cleavage top + long skirt. :P

There's also a lot of NPC stuff that could be recycled. A lot of our Gorn have been hoping for a bare chest option for quite some time. But judging from the WiP pictures, it looks as if this might already be in the works. Let's see.

Same goes for the Federation, though. I really wish my Fed characters could get those pants with large pockets that the Fleet Registry NPC in ESD has. :D

Some pretty important stuff here from a KDF standpoint, I would completely agree.

I never did understand (when I set up my Klingon) why the Captain Klaa sleeveless armor wasn't available.

Also, I would hope that with the Enterprise pack coming soon, that some very basic leathers would be available, based on the ENT era Klingons we saw. No reason why these couldn't carry forward as well.
