So I was playing around with the profile dialouge today, and I made this little thing:

http://anzonda.com/profile_demo.jpg

I find the dialouge unsatisfying, so I wanted to create an example of what I think would make a somewhat interesting dialouge.

The basic idea is to make it easier on how to recognize the player, and see what the player has been throug.

At first I was thinking of putting all the accolades into a individual tab, but in the end I came to the conclution that certain accolades are quite easy to get your hands on, so I was browsing throug my list to find thoose that required a little extra. Im sure half of you have more cool accolades but since I don't have them, I cant put them in xD

Im not expecting this one to replace the current one, but It might spark ideas in someone who will make a cool one some day.

You could call it a "Service Jacket."

I really like the presentation. It feels like I'm looking at well-organized service jacket (from the future). :D

I'd do some minor tweaking: a title for the Medal Case / Accolade Menu, bring the ui elements in-line more with the latest kit.

Latest kit`? Elaborate, and I might just do that :)

The new PvP Queue interface added title and body background spanners. They might help break up the different sections on the left-hand side for easier reading.

I'd probably frame the picture as well (not with a border but maybe a vertical separator)

Very nice. Seeing this implemented would be fantastic.

Don't copy that LCARS thing entirely.

LCARS is poorly designed from a usability standpoint.

Tell me about it... I tried to develop a LCARS webpage based on what I've seen in the series and from what i've leaned while studing for Multimedia Designer... Took me a while, but I finally gave up.

What would be a fantastic add-on would be if there was a way to have your stats and accolades, be signature embeddable. I know of a few games where your stats are accessable via an external high scores board, such that the data can be scraped and used in things like forum boards and the like. It would be great to do that with star trek. It also would be great to be able to do this in some sort of administrative capacity as part of a fleet. You can look up the stats etc for individual fleetmembers online or not.

Looking up a service jacket on new Fleet Applicants would be a boon for PvPers/STF fleets. :D

Made a development snapshot... Right course?

I tried to match the current STO setup, while remaining loyal to my original makeup...

I like it. The titles are clearer: it feels right, it looks right.

Added another one, and put a little more detail into this one.

Basically I've added some of thoose small, seemingly useless squares that break the lines surronding the content.
Along with that, i've added the "pvp dialouge list" squares to the accolades as background, and removed the title box, as it seemed somewhat out of place to me.

    Enjoy:

So... Having had less than my fair share of sleep this night, I've decided to post a little few ideas about how this dialouge could work in game.

Ok, so basically it should be a simple representation of what you see in the captains database.
It should provide just enough information for the visitor to get an idea of who the player is (in game that is).

At the same time it serves as a profile of the user. The current one does that, but IMO not very well, as the info seems cluttered together and things such as for example the Diplomatic rank, was not taken into account when it was developed.

The current one, allowed for expansion, as the items are grouped together into subgroups. So if more options/features appear, it would be possible to simply add either a scrollbar to the info side, or expand the entire dialouge to fit an extra box.

Next thing i think is somewhat important: Special Accolades.
Right now you get a good bunch of accolades. What I am thinking is to define accolades that are hard to get, or requires you to reach the max of somthing.
Theese should then be Ctrl+Click'able by the owning player to display though the chat.
Right now anyone can claim to have acchived a given accolade, but the "bragging right" is gone, as no one can really proove that they've gained the accolade.
It might even display the current amount of Accolade points owned by the player, as they are, as I understand it, sort of a method of a prestige?

    Thoughts?

Is it even possible to get attention enough for that to happen?

I am not sure it is.

    Great scott, Marty!

    That UI pops out.

The only suggestion I'd make is to have the backgrounds of both the title and medal merge (I.e. one big background for each award. It'd make it easier to sort through when looking at a large stack (especially after resizing the window).

I always thought those pages were a bit dull. I very much like that, and I would enjoy seeing that implemented as well.

(And maybe a Klignon one also, with a bit of alteration)

I can do that... But i need you to do somthing for me then:

Post a screenshot of the following:

    - Klingon UI
    - Klingon Info dialouge
    - Klingon PvP queue
    - Klingon "Rare" Accolades
    - In-game screenshot of a klingon ship

    Higher resolution = better development.

Do that for me, and I will build and add one.

The reason for this, is that I don't play klingon myself, so I need that from you guys.

Friendly bump - love this, much better than what's on Tribble now tbh.

Also would like to see a history of fleets joined and perhaps some combat stats?
