Kill 1000 Borg-Accolade by pressing ONE KEY!

If you start a new char, in the tutorial, look out for the Engineering Section (big glowing Warpcore in the middle).
There are constantly new Borg Mobs beaming in.

Go into the options > controls (scroll to the bottom) and set "Auto Fire" to MAINTAIN.

//edit:
you have to right click on the Weapon (default slot 1) to activate autofire feature (it is the same as in space)

Step away a little and press [1] ...one time!
(not spacebar, spacebar was in space :o )

DONE!

Now all you have to do is ...wait for ~90 minutes while your toon keeps killing one Borg after the other.

You can get all Accolades for killing Borg.
As a Bonus you will aproximatly be at 50000/150000 dmg for the "Sultan of Stun" Accolade, which is for your Captains delt Phaserdamage.



Pro Tip: if you have any Pre Order items, or Special Unlocks like Tribbles with damage Buffs or the Chromodynamic Armor (from steam), now is the time to use them because they give your puny Mk 1 Phaser a good dmg and crit boost, therefore the whole thing takes less time.



If you press Alt + Enter the game runs in a window and keeps working while you do diffrent things on your PC.

I watched 5 Episodes of Amarican Dad while only having an eye on the STO window, the game is even so nice it mutes the sound for you if the window is inactive so you can watch TV while STO keeps working.

now why am i even posting this BS?

- i killed 1000 Borg while i was basically AFK, i was never in any danger to get killed!
means the tutotial is to easy !?
- or the tutorial Borg should not even be counted towards the accolade?... you decide.
- Cryptic might want to finally fix the tutorial now so that this is not possible anymore!

    What do you get for the accolade?

    "Assimilate This!" Power? - What does it do?

    Liberated title (for this toon only?)

    Anything else?

    uhm +2% dmg vs. Borg... i think.

    so it is usefull for most of the STF's

    I ended up doing this on my catian, though I remained at the keyboard and controlled it myself. I wanted to have the Liberated title before leaving the tutorial. :D

    You can also destroy 200 Borg Ships in the tut.

    You get -
    Technophobe (100 Borg Ships)
    "Immune" title and Nanoprobe Immunity power (200 Borg Ships)

    I don't know what it does. Sorry.

    Nice guide!

    I just want to point out, if you do your daily B'tran stuff and only jump into an STF once in a month, you will get the accolade as well.

    Not as fast and afk and early on, but maybe it is not really necessary. Unless you are on your x-th alt and a perfectionist.

    Nanoprobe Immunity give +2% damage dealt to Borg Ships and Assimilate This! gives +2% damage dealt to Borg. All the defeat and general accolades work like this. If you look at passives under your captain's status screen, then it will show what the bonuses do.

    nice 1...

    in a very early episode of STOked (back in closed beta i think) Jeremy pointed that one out, just that back then there was no Autofire feature, now you can do it pretty much while beeing AFK... so this should be fixed somehow.

    How do you get it to auto-fire? I've tried right-clicking and it won't work. Am I missing something?

    EDIT: Got it. Had to play around with it for a minute.

    And there's an even easier way to kill Borg in the Tutorial... (hint: Your BO has a Mk I WIDE BEAM STUN PHASER PISTOL, that I've seen do over 100 pts of damage in a flank shot to EACH BORG in a group of 4 to 6 members) This also makes it practical to get that ground combat accolade in the Tutorial with the 2% Phaser Damage Bonus...

    Note: You miss out on all of the bonus Captain and BOff Skill points you would get for these accolades outside of the tutorial.

    Fair trade for the ease at which you get them in the tutorial, IMO. I'll wait until later when I can get a nice boost to my points instead.

    This is incorrect. In the Tutorial, I DID GET ALL THE BONUS SKILLS AND BO'S points. With the Walmart 'Bonus 300 pts' pre-order special, my character ended up as a Lt. 3 before even making it to Sol Starbase due to the Accolade skill points spent...

    Ya ... setting auto attack to maintain and pressing space bar does not work

    Set auto attack to maintain in controls, Set autofire by right clicking an attack on your toolbar, then attack.

    I did this without the all fancy-schmancy autofire, like a "true" Trekkie. ;)
    Was watching one of the boring WorldCup games during it. I think it was Italy against someone.

    Even got the space Borg Accolade during that Italy game. The space accolade grinding was actually more fun than watching Italy play. :)

    BTW, I ONLY SAW FRACKING CATS strolling through while I was playing backup NPC in that Warp Core room.

    They must have changed something then. When I tried this on Tribble, my character got nothing for those accolades.

    Unfortunately I am out of character slots on live so...

    Isnt this advertising an exploit?

    Im all up for guides and helping people but publicly announcing an exploit isnt a good idea.

    Not really an exploit so much as a clever use of game mechanics.
