The Lame Name Shame Game

Rules: you have to post a name you saw in the game today (searching the list of captains on the web site or a poorly-remembered character you saw last week isn't really fair). Character names, account names, and ship names are all fair game, especially if they make something awful in conjunction with each other.

Every MMORPG is plagued with hordes of characters with intensely uncreative names. Let's at least have a little fun with the phenomenon.

After like 6-7 ships in the game I ran out of ideas and I found nothing good with the random name generator(and I dont really know what Vor'ke'gah etc. means anyway)

A Klingon translator may help with that:

i was under the impression, directly outing someone(regardless of why) on the forums was against the rules?

Maybe - but then again, a lot of Klingon sounds like, "Get out of the way, I'm about to hurl!" :p

Greatest name I ever saw was a friend who created a Klingon and clicked 'Random' for the ship name generator and got the I.K.S. P'nis.

We have penetrated deep into Federation territory in a vicious thrust!

I saw a ship named the...

    USS Destroyinator

Then I thought about what my 6 year old would name his ship and figured it was someones young son playing with his account.

Since one mans beauty is another mans ... not beauty ... i'll say one that i thought was both funny, and imaginative, but would prolly ruin the 'immersion' of people who RP.

    Ernest Borg Nine.

I dont remember anything else except that i Had to send him a message complimenting him on the name. That was win.

You know, I was under the impression that there was going to be a process in place to remove the rubbish names you see. Could have sworn I read that during the beta.

You should not post someone's @handle, but the character's and ship name are fair game.

You can cut off names but still leave the reticle on the ship and show names when you mouse over the target.

My favorite ship was was Winds of Uranus.

Anyone remember the Invader Zim cartoon?

I have a toon named Grr. He has a cruiser named U.S.S. Voot Cruiser and an Escort named U.S.S. Rubber Piggy.

Before I actually start seriously playing my Klingon alti character my Bop was named IKS Choksondik. If you don't get it, say it out loud.

The best bad name I saw was in open beta before the profanity filter called, the USS S L U T Bucket.

I know someone with the U.S.S. R. Vladivostok (it wouldn't let him put in just R., so he had to put something after it).

    That made me giggle.

One that made me laugh in-game was the character "Doc Brown" of the USS DMC-12. He ran around yelling "Great Scott!" a lot.

Captain Lion-O of the USS Mumrah. He was a Catian, of course.

And of course Jean Luc Skywalker. Always thought that name was a little lame.

I can admit, my Science admiral is captaining the recon science vessel USS Hunter Gathers.

But in my own defense I'm doing a Venture Brothers theme. Captain Jonas Venture Jr. Is pure awesome. And having two-ton 21, Billy Quizboy, And Brock Sampson on your away team is comedy gold. :D
