Sulu promoted? Or just lost the license to that name cryptic?

According to the latest engineering report sulu is no longer in admiral quinns office, he was promoted.... Im guessing cryptic lost the license rights to the star trek name Mr Sulu and thus had to remove it...

    You'd be guessing incorrectly. Without giving any spoilers, he's just moved to another section of the game. His replacement talks about him if asked.

    I am rather curious as to what brought you to this conclusion. It just seems like a random guess from out of the blue that honestly makes no sense an a rational mind. I really can't see anyone telling Cryptic "Ok, you can continue to use star trek, EXCEPT that you may not use 'Sulu' anywhere in the game."

    Seriously dude, i am not being sarcastic, i honestly want to know what made you think that your guess had any sort of merit behind it.

    If Captain Sulu were the Sulu then I could agree with the OP about possibly losing the license - they'd need George's approval to use his image in the game - but George has no control over children or grandchildren of his character being used. This is probably just setting up the new zone and a potential meeting between Captain Sulu and the Poseidon and your character.

    What would be cool is if they were to get George to voice the newly promoted Captain Sulu.

    as to the guy making smart TRIBBLE remarks i was just poking fun and wondering why they suddenly decided to remove him...chill out a bit , relax, have some earl gray tea......
