So this is one of a chain of new updates I am doing to my
Comprehensive List of Suggestions for STO thread. These updates have 2 purposes:
1. To make room. I have almost run out of room on the thread, so I am moving several larger sections to new threads like this one.
2. Many people have said the list was too long for them to bother scrolling through. These updates will shorten the list, allowing people to easily scroll through and read ideas that interest them.
Character Creator modificationsFace
- Slider for Nose width (currently you can make the nostrils and bridge wider, but the middle of the nose stays the same size)
- A slider that would allow you to give the nose a more hooked shape (or perhaps add it in as a nose type in the nose detail section)
- Slider for upper jaw line (currently, characters look gaunt and the cheek size slider only helps but so much)
- Slider for eye depth
- Slider for mouth shape (angle down or up)
- Slider for eyebrow height
- Multi-eye color variants (currently only solid colors are possible, personally, my eyes are hazel, I have a greenish brown color, but there are flecks of blue, I'd like to be able to simulate this)
- Ability to have two different colored eyes (heterochromia)
- The ability to have ocular implants instead of eyes.
Facial Expression
- Matches for current and future stances
- Animated Andorian antennae, based on facial expression changes
More hairstyles
- Curly hairstyles (M and F)
- More Medium Length hairstyles (M and F)
- More longer hairstyles that are receding for characters with Forehead ridges (M and F) (The B'Ellana Torres hairstyle for instance)
- Really long hairstyles, mid back maybe (F)
- Shoulder length hairstyles (M) Here
- The "horseshoe" hairstyle (worn by Picard and the Doctor)
Body
- Allow smaller bust sizes
- A butt size slider
- A slider for changing waist width (On females, there isn't really a way to make the waist wider, as increasing the stomach size makes them look pregnant)
- Better options for making characters overweight. The current set-up is better for making females look pregnant, than for making characters look overweight. This is especially important for Pakled characters, as the race is very, shall we say "portly", yet all you can do now is give them a beer-belly. (Before anyone says that Starfleet is a military organization and that characters aren't allowed to be overweight, go look at a picture of Scotty from the later TOS era movies).
Stances
- Shy- Head tilted down to avoid eye contact
- Arrogant- Nose up in the air
- Clumsy/Awkard (Think Barclay after his first appearance, maybe a periodic "Did I bring my wallet...?" self patdown, wrings hands, etc.)
- Oafish/Lumbering (Maybe periodically stops to check the bottom of his/her shoes to see if he/she stepped on anything)
- Impatient (Taps foot, "checks watch", does a handroll as if to say, "Get on with it already...")
- Poetic/Shakespearian (Think Picard, Great for STVI-style Klingons too)
Titles
- Crewman
- Petty Officer
- Yeoman
- Chief
- Doctor
- Deputy Director
- Commodore
- Fleet Captain
- Constable
Comments
I'd like to mix and match the humanoid 01 eyes and nose with the humanoid 02 eyes and nose but I'd be satisfied with two more head options that already do this and perhaps additional head types with different nose shapes.
In terms of hairstyles, don't forget the "horseshoe" that Picard, The Doctor, Eric Pressman, etc. have. It's probably the most common hairstyle in Star Trek shows that has no in-game representation.
