Will they charge us for season 2?

Will season 2 have a price tag?

Wasn't it around 6 months after the CO release that content began costing money, although later made free? Will there be a similar charge associated with season 2?

    Meh.

    I assume what the players desperately need will be free.

    A lot of fluff will probably end up on the c-store around Season 2.

    (furthermore, we're getting a bunch of overhauls this month for free - should clean the plate for a while).

    As disgruntled as this community is, that would probably be a very poor business decision on Cryptic's part, you know well as I do about the "fluff: debate that has been going on, on this forums. Making content "pay to play" might be the straw that breaks the back of the player base.

    Isnt CO only just recently 6 months old ? It only was launched this past September you know ? There were no content releases that cost money. That had said they would charge for that content but they changed their minds. I dont think Cryptic would make that mistake again (but maybe they will).

    Maybe he meant the City of Villians expansion for City of Heros... which is esentially pre-Champions.. Or Champions is CoX 2? Seeing how Cryptic was behind both, it seems to make sense, yes? :confused:

    If they charge us for Game Updates (STO's= Seasons) this will 100% enrage people. SWG's GU (Game Updates) only cost time (as in patch loading time) that's it. The monthly pay is for the Season updates and any other patch that Cryptic makes.

    If they do charge people for it then wow... :p These aren't huge expansion packs so no charge SHOULD be implimented.

    Yea that. Since Season 1 had a whole bunch of nice stuff added to the C-Store instead of to the game, the update will probably be free. However a lot of stuff ADDED in the update will be C-Store stuff I would imagine.

    So......no you probably wont have to pay for it. Not really. Well.....kind off. Sorta. Yea.

    Will they charge for Season 2? Who knows. Will they charge us for what they define as "expansions"? You're darned right they will. And I don't have a problem with that at all.

    Well yea but Season 2 is not an expansion. Its a lot of stuff that would have normally released with other mmorpgs at launch. Coming soon! Or later maybe.

    They announced that since they did it with co, if they didn't do it with sto, it would look like they wimped out.
    Ergo, season two is going to only be for lifetime members PLUS a 30 dollar fee after they bring your character down to bg -39 and sell it to Sony.

    You forgot to mention that 1 week after Sony takes control they will alter every aspect of the game, esentially making it a new game. They will do this with no warning to the fans and when the backlash starts they will claim that it was based on recommendations of the fans and it was all for them. I LOVE Sony! :D

    Well, if they made all the good things in STO into bad things, and took all the bad things and made them good, then STO would probably be about as good as it is now.

    And all this will occur a few weeks after releasing an expansion based on the old game. :eek:

    There will be no charge for Season 2. (Aside from any new goodies added to the C-shop)

    Season 2 will be free.

    More stuff (eg Caitians) will be added to C-Store.

    Don't look for a paid expansion until they add another playable faction.

    My thinking is Cryptic has learned their lesson from CO and player reactions here. They need to be careful going forward.

    Season 2 - free, just like Season 1.

Not Sure Why I Had To Buy A Box The Game Stop? They Could Have Sent Me The Pin!!! A Nother $240.00 For A Life Time Membership To A Stupid Beta Game??? Craptic Needs To Get Off Their Butts And Fix This Thing And Fast!! I Knew Their Was A Reason Why I Played One The Xbox360, The Game Might Be Smaller But For The Most Part Their Done And You Can Play Them With Our This TRIBBLE Bad Sound In A Big Battle All I Hear Is Bits And Peices, Crappy Support For Ati Cards!! I Bought A New I7 Machine With All The Bells And Whisles ($1200.00) And For What? A Game That Is A 4.0 Out Of 10 At Best And That's Reaching!!!     Given their past experience with CO, I'm sure it'll be free.

    LOL it could be argued that everything already provided in the wonderful world of STO should, at the very least, have its monthly price tag cut in half. This is a sci-fi rpg with a chat window, lil more really. They need more quest, period. Shouldn't have to pay for that...

    No, Kirkfat. Seasons will not cost extra. The boxed expansion where Pakleds are revealed to be the Demons of Air & Darkness on the other hand ...! :eek:
