I like the game, I see tons of potential. And I am never one to make a rash decisions.
That being said, this issue with 'phantom' game time has really got me wondering what type of company is at the controls of my favorite IP.
Shame on you Atari/Cryptic.
If there isn't something more concrete from Atari/Cryptic on this issue SOON (beyond the slight of hand they are trying to pull) then they can no longer count on my funds to line their pockets.

This is exactly how Im feeling. Even though I like STO, I cant give this company any more money, just out of principle. Its a shame. I even LIKED STO.
But not this much. They will get no more of my money unless they convince me otherwise. And thats going to take some pretty darn strong convincing.
Yes it was such a misunderstanding it appeared on their website and then a forum post here that the date was wrong and the deal was extended until March 3rd.
I think the FTC is going to jump all over this.
CBS is going to freak out too.
let's not forget that as well as all the web advertisement there was also this mail that went out. They can't delete this from my inbox.

They actually closed it as the fury hit here and people from here started to assume that as it's nothing to do with Cryptic, Atari must be the people to shout at. And being weekend some mod panicked and pulled the plug. It was closed as a direct result of the ghost promotion.
This isn't going to be pretty. I sense much disturbance in the force.
Well, they kept me from canceling for one more day with talk of this patch. Maybe, just maybe they're gonna pull some magical rabbit out of a hat that will fix everything, make everyone happy, and make this a game worth subscribing to.
