The captain of Deadliest Catch, or so I am told, has passed away. Phil Harris lived an eventful life, and to be honest one that touched many people who tuned in to watch his extremely popular show.
To that end let us all toast him and his life, and offer his friends and family our condolences.
January 29th, he had a stroke on a normal offload.
He'd been in the hospital ever since. Last night he passed.
He was a strong man...he may have been on a Reality TV show...but he was a real person....
He will be missed...and I am sure all the other Captains from Dutch Harbor are going to get plastered in his honor...It's the proper thing to do for a fallen shipmate.
I have watched the first 4 seasons, and after that massive blood clot that nearly killed him, he struggled ever since. But at least he got a couple more seasons before everything caught up to him.
Wife and I loved the show, and will both be sad that Phil is gone. Having been to Dutch Harbor and having lived on Adak island for 3 years I know he lived a hard life. I hope his boys are up to the task ahead of them taking over his business.
Our prayers go out to them and for Phil. RIP
Man, iI love that show. I am going to miss Cap'n Phil. To everyone of age, break out a bottle of the best stuff you got in the house and take a shot for the ol salt!

To Cap'n Phil!
I love that freaking show, and I always enjoyed watching Phil. He will be missed.
Tonight, ladies and gents, set phasers to boil, and cook some crabs in his honor. Set photons to lemon-flavor, and enjoy.
(Martok) Twenty-three-o-nine! There is no finer vintage!!! (/Martok)

If you want non Star Trek topics go to another site.
He was a good man, and a captain of a ship. Traits common in Star Trek. There, that's what it has to do with Star Trek for you.
