Escort weapons loadout

I just made Lt Comm and now have my first escort ship.

What is a good weapons loadout to use?

And what is the deal with weapons interfering with each other, and not always being able to fire when they refresh?

    ive been using two phaser dual cannon mk iv, and quantum torpedo launcher mk iv, with a phase turret mk iv in the back.

    I have two phaser arrays Mk IV which are rare (Thanks PvP) a Quantum Torpedo Launcher MK IV with 20% severity. Thats just for the front. The Rear is a Photon Torpedo Mk IV.

    Seriously, just do PvP. The medals you get will get you some sweet weapons and it doesn't cost you like a billion credits from people from the exchange.

    In PvP as Fed, if you lose you get about 20-25 Medals of Bravery (Lt. Comm), avg. 100 skillpoints, and around 2200 credits.

    If you win its slightly more than that but not much, even if you had a hand in every kill.

    Some people farm this though, and sell what they get on the exchange. Just do PvP. I just say that because I hate waiting times for PvP. If I queue queue, I want to pew pew real fast.

    Just posted this in another thread. So far I have seen my best results in fleet action from a dual canon (not heavy), dual beam phaser bank, and a quantum launcher up front, and a single beam array in back.

    The quantums are a little slow for my liking, so I am thinking about a change back to photons. We'll see.

    I have disrupter dual cannons mark IV, dual phaser beam bank mark IV, quantum torpedo mark IV and a phaser turret mark IV.
    I get all my stuff from exploration points. Easy in quite quick. PVP is not for me.

    2 dual cannons + torp is better if you are able to keep your target in your front wich is quite easy as an escort.

    later on the highest possible dps is
    2 dual cannon (not heavy cause they provide the same dps but you need only 2 normal instead of 3 heavys to fire constant open up an slot for additional dmg)
    1 dualbeam
    1 launcher and as much turrets as you like (can fit) in your aft slots.
