Priority in queues for STO lifers

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,018 Arc User
Since Cryptic has got quite a lot of money upfront from the STO lifers which they can, and undoubtedly are, using for investment in servers and whatnot, it is not more than fair that the lifers get priority while gueueing. Anticipating implementation by Cryptic...

I would say give the people who don't have lifetime priority. Think most of the people that didn't get lifetime won't stay past the 30 free days that come with the game if it continues like this.

You have "your entire life" to play this game :p

we paid 300$ or more to play compared to your 50$ its like getting one of those disney world packages... then having to wait in line behind the ppl that paid for one day ppl that pay more should get more period

Break it down. "Lifers" paid $10 per month to play this game. All others are paying $15 per month. In the long run the non-lifers are paying Cryptic more.

A thread similar to this came up a few days ago and someone came up with a good point

Lifers have paid... Cryptic have your money - they dont need to keep you, pacify you, treat you special - they've had the dollar value outta you

Those that dont have life are the ones they need to attact, month by month players.

I'm not saying its right, but its business. Keep you existing customers happy.. but do what you can to attract new customers.

No - people who are paying a monthly fee should get priority. Cryptic already got all the money they're going to get from you, however they want to keep those of us who didn't cough it up so they can make more money. It's all about the bottom line and the bottom line is...you already gave them your money...now if they want mine they'll need to step it up.

If you think otherwise, you are an egotistical self-righteous douche.

and you are a very "special" person who wasted 300USD on a game

So, after sixteen months, if there's ever a queue (which there won't be), monthly subscribers can go before you. This is what you're saying, right?

Well I don't really give a rat's TRIBBLE about the fact that you bought a lifetime subscription and I didn't. You get a "liberated borg" and a mathematically lower monthly rate for prepaying like that. What you don't get is membership to some sort of elite club with special privileges over people who, in the long run, are contributing MORE to Cryptic's coffers by paying a higher monthly fee.

Get in line with the rest of us, peon.

Lifers paid 80 to pre-order and 239.00 for sub.

Lifers didn't have to pay $80 to pre-order. Sorry, but that's completely false.

How about this, they get more servers to actually handle the amount of people and then some more servers to handle the other servers that go down. Then no one has to wait in a line and no one gets upset with Cryptic or the game.

Actually its not anything remotely like that at all. Its more like you paid 300 dollars for a life time membership and I paid 50+ dollars with a monthly fee. There is no extra special fawkin anything for you except you pre pay a two year subscription and anytihng after that is free. So get off your lifetime high horse and fly your borg cube to uranis.

you giving these jokers your money upfront has a good chance of wrecking further development.

they're hedging their bets against failure and morons pony up without thinking. beware of any game that offers a "lifetime" subscription offer.

Looks like you kicked a beehive here :D

I do not agree that lifers should get priority in the queue, its the queue that needs to be adressed. Dont get me wrong, im a lifer myself and would not change that for the world - after a year and a half we'll be playing for free after all :D

On the off chance, that STO fails - well, thats the risk we all took. But my guts tell me that this one will be around for a long time. Fact is, that we - as i stated above - will be rewarded greatly once we start playing free - Borgs ranking Admiral :D

*Salutes* see you ingame, comrads :-))

I pay monthly, I am worth more to Cryptic than lifers (no offense to the decent lifetime subs). In the long run, if you quit within 14 months they still got your cash. They need to work a little harder to get my dollars. That being said, I don't believe in Priority access for anyone. Lifetime subs got their rewards, the ability to create a borg char and the ability to play for 10 years for 1 price (should hte game last htat long).

I like the guy that said he was rich and had money to burn and no care in the world. I hope that was sarcasm. Or it's a 12 year old playing up, because NOBODY would say somehting so stupid on the forums. Rich people with money to burn have lives, they don't wait in line to play STO, or likely play STO at all when they could be out on the yacht or schmoozing with other rich folks. If you didn't have a care in the world, then waiting in the cue shouldn't be a problem for you, open a bottle of Dom and relax watching your 100in plasma screen while you wait, you'll get your turn.

Not that I need to justify myself, I own my own business, which pretty much allows me to play STO whenever I feel like, it still doesn't mean I am going to go to the track and place a $240 WPS bet on a 99-1 horse. I've played the speculation game, not really my thing.

Ah, the stench of elitism and entitlement. You paid for access to a game for as long as it lasts. Enjoy it and toddle off now.
