Too light/washed out textures

Since the headstart and after loading new catalyst drivers, I have noticed that the textures on models seem a bit washed out or too light. Adjusting brightness does not help. There also seems to be a lack of shadows or merely very light shadows in general.

Anyone else experiencing this? I am running an ATI HD4850 with catalyst 10.1 drivers.

    I seem to have the same issue with NVIDIA drivers
