Ferengi Outfit Boxes Bug; Unable to Open as KDF allied and Reman Characters

roninwolf1981#2968 roninwolf1981 Member Posts: 628 Arc User
I've encountered at least 2 bugs when attempting to open the Ferengi Outfit boxes from the Grand Nagus Giveaway.

KDF and KDF-allied characters (Romulan/Jem'Hadar) are unable to interact with the Ferengi Outfit boxes after claiming them. I click on the [Use] option, but nothing happens.

My Fed-allied Delta Recruit (Reman female) is also unable to interact with the Ferengi Outfit boxes, but there is a system response:
"You do not meet the requirements for this item."

This is WAI, although quite annoying. Only Federation characters can use the Ferengi outfits. Check the "More Details" on the right-click menu.

I think the Fed'Hadars also work but you are correct that this sadly is working as intended.

This is not a bug and WAI. Unfortunately, those outfits were never setup to be used by KDF/KDF-allied.

Perhaps Cryptic / DECA could play double Santa and make this gift even better by removing the fed-only and off-duty flags from the outfits?

I'll just wish upon a Star (Trek)....

Just flipping a switch seems like such an easy thing to do but what would happen if it affects the games's code in ways nobody could even begin to imagine ?

I don't think it's as simple as "flipping a switch." If I recall correctly, in order to make Cross-Faction flying possible, they literally had to duplicate every ship in the game for both Factions. In this case, the costumes would have to be duplicated for KDF, then the character artists would have to go through and make sure they worked for each KDF playable Race, male and female. Not something that could've been done so quickly.

Trust me, we don't like it anymore than you folks do. I will vouch for my cohort above that we've talked with them about it and would love to see it changed too. idk when or if that will happen, but for now unfortunately this is intended.
