I’ve been with STO for 1.5 years now and recently started getting into PvP. I initially didn’t have a clue and just wanted to do the Ker’rat patrol with my tank… I’m sure you can guess what happened next :-)
I then decided to explore the possibilities for solo PvP with a tank just for fun. Of course, you can fill the tech, universal console, and trait slots with hull resistance functions, but relatively speaking (and I’ve tried quite a few setups), this tends to come at a significant cost to maneuverability and offensive capabilities, right?
So, if I’m lying in the corner, heavily armored but slow and with relatively blunt offensive power, isn’t it just a matter of whether the hunter needs three, two, or just one shot to take me down?
In the PvP realm, is it similar to real life, where a tank (e.g., the Niemitz in an actual battle) would only have a chance of survival if it isn’t alone, but is surrounded by a protective fleet?
moved to shipyard for better facilitation of mechanics discussions.
