For the love of Q
Please, please, please get someone from the office to re-record Q's lines. This chap is dreadful. Q has a superiority complex in his tone but is engaging and measured, he speaks with precision. This VA is smug and annoying, but nothing like De Lancie's portrayal. I know you can't get him to record the lines but literally anyone would be better than this bloke. Or just remove the audio when he talks maybe? No VO was better than this. I'm not judging the voice actor, I'm sure he's very good, but he's no Q. I don't want an impressionist, but just someone who can get the essence of Q's character.

This is not De lancie's Q, and never was. De Lancie apparently did not want to do it, so you got Junior instead. Remember, Q was a race, not just De Lancie.

Apparently not anymore - his career only extends 11 years (and his role as Q Jr. on Voyager was his last) and his Wiki page lists him as a former actor.
Which is probably why Cryptic couldn't get him either.

His tone is too high too, and too inflected, if you ask me. There's no gravitas in his voice and the moment he says 'oh?!' he sounds genuinely taken aback - not something you'd expect from an omniscient being. Or even one that pretends to be all-knowing but in reality isn't.
And the fact that it's not John's Q (which isn't stated anywhere in the game anymore btw), isn't really a good excuse.
In the Voyager episode with Quinn (the Q who wanted to commit suicide) none of the other Q's sounded anything like the Q in the game.
His way of talking probably comes closest to that of the Female Q from one of the other Voyager episodes.
And even though her character was annoying as hell (especially since she communicated even more clearly that she considered other lifeforms inferior), she still spoke with more authority than whoever voices our Q.

I think I was around the age of 11 when Voyager aired. So at first I found him a bit too old (like all those actors), but when I rewatched the episode a few years later, I easily found him the most handsome guy in all of Star Trek.
Sorry Connor Trinneer, you were handsome too, but you're no Keegan.

Saying it isn't a good excuse is a really poor argument to make. In Voyager's fight in the Q-universe, not all Q spoke like De Lancie Q, and the Q-universe was described by De Lancie Q as drab and dreary. So, why should everyone sound like De Lancie Q then?
I mentioned the other Q. They spoke differently, yes. None of them even remotely sounded anything like 'our' Q though.

And Q Junior was a petulant, whiny and foppish sounding Q in Voyager.....so nothing different then......and there's the common view that Trelane (https://www.slashfilm.com/1345015/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-makes-it-official-trelane-q-continuum/), which is who I think you mean, was maybe also a Q.
Regarding Trelane, far as I know the only connection that is known at this time between him and Q is the Q Squared novel. There's also the fact that most of his powers seemed to also have a technological source or augmentation to them that Kirk managed to deal with before we learned that Trelane was in fact quite young for his species, equivalent to a human child.
Theories abound, the article highlights a throwaway line regarding Q and Trelane.
'In "Those Old Scientists," Ensign Boimler (Jack Quaid) and Ensign Mariner (Tawney Newsome) have been thrown back in time 120 years, and have immediately become careful about tainting the timeline. Boimler, to undo some damage he incurred, sneaks aboard a shuttlecraft where he is startled by Ensign Mariner (Tawney Newsome). He exclaims "Holy Q!" and Mariner immediately shushes him. In her usual flip fashion, she then explains that the people in this timeline haven't met Q yet. "They sort of had a Trelane thing going on."'

It's the closest to confirmation we have, though it's not absolute
that would be cool, but I suspect that unless or until STO writes an episode demanding John and his son's voice talents, they will not re-cast the voice of Qjr for Winter Fest or the Anni-Event.
Until then, we a stuck with the voice of Snobby McSnoberson.
