Sorry about this being late, my internet was down the last few days.
  • Cryptic is just past the middle of development on the anniv update.
  • Anniv update will have new episode and TFO.
  • TFO is said to be different gameplay and narrative wise compared to what they normally do.
  • Anniv ship is awesome, and Kael describes it as one of the prettiest ships they've ever made.
  • Elite random TFOs will come with the anniv update. More details/blog closer to release of anniv update.
  • Jarrod says we might see new elite TFO versions for some TFOs that currently don't have it, but he doesn't promise that will happen.
  • Cryptic might do something with Moopsy, Kael says there's been discussions.
  • Jarrod wants to get Patrick Stewart to do something for STO, have him do Locutus and Picard somehow.
  • Jarrod will look into making single character unlocks from zen store bundles, like the Tommy gun, account unlocks. Says it would be possible in a lot of cases, but it depends on the reward type.
  • Weapon vanity slots is something Cryptic wants to do, but there's time/resource issues behind the idea, and other stuff takes priority. Jarrod said its something they could put on their list of things to try to do.

  • New ship the Shrike
  • Design originally came from a mix of the Klingon and Romulan Birds of Prey, wanting to find something in the middle.
  • Everyone on the Picard team from John Eaves to Doug Drexler took a pass on the Shrike to develop its final design. Final design was Doug Drexler mixed with Eric(didn't catch the last name)
  • Dave Blass doesn't see how people think it looks like the Nerada.
  • Shrike isn't a Dominion ship. Wouldn't make sense Vadic would be using a Dominion ship to do crimes. Wouldn't use your own car to rob a bank.
  • Pod on the bottom was originally going to be the portal device instead of the deflector. Wanted it to look bolted on. Device was later moved to the pincer because it looked cooler.
  • Cryptic got the show model for the Shrike to use for the in-game version. Mauricio added the ability for players to tint the material any color they want.
  • Ship is an Intel Juggernaut
  • Console is portal device. opens a portal in front of you, and target ship up to 15km away. The longer you leave it on, the longer the cooldown. Weapons fire goes through the portal, allowing you to target enemies that are further away than normal weapon ranges. Targetable torpedoes, hanger pets, tractor beams, and ships, can pass through the portal. Will likely change the portal to be locked out during the TFO prep phase.
  • Trait is "Eclectic Collector of Armaments". The more different kinds of weapons you use the more bonus damage you get.
  • Ship is infinity promo
  • Cryptic is open to feedback if small tweaks to the portal device would make it easier to use.
  • Comes with Lethean polarons to match the visuals of the weapons used on the show
  • Traits works with mixed armament synergy. Damage will refresh the stacks from its own category but not from other categories.

  • Event Maelstrom is on the slimmer side. Doesn't do as much damage, but doesn't take as much time to recharge.
  • Pure kitbash ships that let you pick whatever parts you want wont happen due to the way ships are built in-game around skeletons, and each part needing to be fit for each skeleton. Also issues about visual scale between things like the different Connies.
  • If Cryptic ever made the clump ship you would be unlikely to customize it in the normal ways due to the need to fit all the different material types on it.
  • Someone asked about putting the Hegh'ta on the B'rel skeleton, Thomas says no plans due to scale issues.
  • Cryptic has done work internally in regards to letting players disable other player's visuals. Big question is how much control can they give players in disabling effects, and issues in that the game doesn't always know where the power came from, so it can't detect to turn off another player's effect since it isn't registering any difference between you or someone else casting it. Also issues stemming from things being controlled at different levels. Like the server is what keeps track of who casts a power, while the client is the one that plays the effect.

Well, they better hurry the hell up - the way he sounds these days, I don't see him lasting much longer...I seriously hope he does, but that's a tall order.
Like special weapons from other Star Trek games? Wondering if they can be replicated in STO even a little bit? Check this out: https://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1262277/a-mostly-comprehensive-guide-to-star-trek-videogame-special-weapons-and-their-sto-equivalents

I'm pretty sure that was a misspeak caused by gear being pulled from other ships of Kaels coming up on screen when it was being talked about, specifically Lethean Disruptors that were auto-equipped. Anyone have one and know what it really has weapons wise?

Edit: Talking to people in game, it does come with Lethean Disruptors, kinda odd that the Juggernaut Array (Polaron) and the regular weapons it comes with (Disruptors) don't match, but I guess a Disruptor Array this shortly after the Hysperian's Console and it's "Five Magicks" Starship Trait, which both give a bunch of Category 2/Bonus Damage to Disruptor (when setup well) could be seen as a bit overpowered.

I thought the Strike was based off of an STO ship, I vaguely remember people were saying that it was from one of STO's species but recolored when it first showed up, not sure if it was the Hurq, Dominion or Iconian, but I'm pretty sure it was one of those 3.

You're CLOSE. The Shrike itself is not from STO, but some of the ships that were flying WITH her were in fact recolored Elachi frigates.

It has similarities to the Tal-Shiar Assimilated line of ships, but nothing like it existed in STO prior.
