STO Servers Hard Crash

It seems that the STO servers suffered a hard crash about 5 PM PT.
I was in the middle of a Red Alert Borg TFO when it occurred.
Really bad time for layoffs

    I had the same issue too. Any idea what might have caused it?

    Cleaner pulled out the plug for the vacuum cleaner.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    They announced in game they were going to take the servers down. Sometimes that announcement can be missed. Happened to me a few weeks back.

    They announced the restart in game. Guess you missed it. Wasn't a crash it was an announced reboot.
