This is one of the coolest additions in a long time. Thank you very much.
With so many ships in this game... and designs basically being super dogmatic at this point. Escort Destroyer Cruiser battle cruiser hanger deck cruiser... and so on everyone being so very much like the next.
With all of that you give us a battle cruiser, with an Enhanced Battle Cloak... and interesting trait that actually makes flying an enhanced battle cloaking battle cruiser super interesting. Commander command. I admit at first my reaction was why? Command ahhh. Now I'm sold. I can fly this as a big beefy torp boat... haha how fun is that. Something new and unexpected.
Cryptic your not going to hear it much on this one cause its an odd (I think very interesting choice). Thank you. This seems like fun... can't say that about ship packs all that often.
I've got the Bort and like the autocannon, but a legendary version of the ship does not appeal to me.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I absolutely love the ship so far! Everyone who worked on it did a fantastic job! The ship finally getting a legendary version is very well deserved! Thank you so much! It was an instant buy for me!
However... is the ship missing a hangar bay? (Especially with those hangar doors added to the model.)
Where was this ship during the Year of the Klingon? Two years late.

I love the visual revamp, but as someone who 'mained' the T5 version back in the day and has a vested personal interest... this ship completely missed the mark.
Big Soapbox ahead!
When the Bortasqu was released it was the biggest, baddest ship in the game. It was the physically largest ship a captain could fly at the time and it had the firepower that was only rivaled by the most tactically oriented escorts in the game(specifically, the Defiant, and later the 'Bug'/JHAS). It was a giant brick that wasn't going anywhere quickly, but if anything dared to get close, it would get its head chewed off. Its console set even emphasized this point - Subspace Snare warped prey into your 'maw', and the Autocannon tore apart anything that needed an extra 'bite'.
It was an incredible experience to warp into group content.. and see people actually follow and escort a ship of that size and.. presence. Furthermore, I used it to completely lock down entire lanes in the Elite queues with its tremendous firepower. I couldn't react very quickly(turn rates were actually scaled considerable slower back then), but when tactically positioned it was a force to be reckoned with and was durable enough to go toe to toe with any threats. I could solo Tac Cubes and even entire Red Alerts with the thing back in the day. It was everything you could imagine when you think of a massive "flagship" that inspires and "dominates" a battlescape. Obviously, the Scimitar took its place in a lot of categories when Romulans became playable, but the fondness of what the Bortasqu was capable of is still there.
However, this.. thing.. feels like it doesn't even understand what it WANTS to be, let alone what it actually is..
Traits/special quad cannons focusing on speed and single target attacks? This cumbersome beast is NOT an interceptor. It's bluntly a waste of time for a ship of this size and poor agility to not be running multi-target attacks at all times.
EBC and cloaking/torpedo leaning? This isn't a ship for hiding and sneaking around, it's a big, cumbersome brick of a ship that excels at attracting attention and punishing things that get close. (I mean, the word Bortasqu literally means Revenge in Klingon.)
Tanking? Well, it has the command spec/Suppression Barrage 3, but the 5/3 is largely unnecessary and the bridge layout leaves a LOT to be desired for debuff immunity/cleansing. The 1.5 Hull modifier is also not particularly remarkable compared to the Qoj(1.54), Klothos(1.55), or Durgath(1.55).
A Fire Support Platform? This is honestly where I feel the ball was dropped the hardest. One of the single most defining features of the Bortasqu' line was its ability to field 5 Tactical consoles despite not having a Tactical Commander seat. Now sure, I hear "Isomags are a thing", and while that is true, without a Miracle Worker spec for the extra console and bonus damage, this thing is nowhere near the performance benchmark of excellent DEW platforms. Much like how the Avenger stole the Mogh's spotlight back in the day, the Legendary Avenger is a giant middle finger to what the Legendary Bortasqu should have been as an offensive DEW platform.
A Flotilla Command/Support Ship? It lacks the hangars to maximize this role and compensate for its poor agility(especially its inertia). While it would be a slight departure from the existing variants, it would be in line with existing Klingon Capital ships like the Vo'quv or Sarcophagus and is largely what people were hoping for with the ship.
Klingons RARELY get new ships; when get them, they NEED to be bleeding edge designs that can stand up to their counterparts during the long droughts between releases. "Mediocre" isn't good enough, and is the biggest reason why their sales are poor.
TL;DR: I was both extremely hopeful and disappointed. I intend to stick with my Durgath, despite its many flaws.
(I still got the bundle to show my support for KDF, as per usual.)
I've been waiting for this ship since I bought the original Federation legendary bundle. Why did they not follow suite with the addition of the hanger bay like the other Legendary Flagships? For the record, I'm biased toward ships with pets. I have purchased every legendary ship with a hanger bay and have been waiting for a Klingon ship. I guess no buy for me. I was hoping for a legendary D7 with hanger bay to compliment the Legendary Disco Connie but no dice. Was really hoping for this one to have a hanger bay after getting the Legendary Scimitar.
I think it would be better if it were a Legendary Negh'Var battlecruiser instead, seeing that the ship is canon. Don't get me wrong the Bortasqu' is ok, the design could've been a little better, but the Negh'Var should be here first.

Edit:
Actually, now that I read the blog correctly and see the new Quad Cannons that enhance turn rate, the trait makes more sense.

That said, I need to get it right away!
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
It procs of cloak as well... which the bort has. So your golden anyway.

Yes its 5/3. The Enhanced battle cloak is not a typo.
