Who decided to release the kraken and allow roms on every ship?
At one point it was so important to players and devs to "balance" the game. In the past few years there has been an effort to unbalance the game (there are a lot of examples) and to make decisions that almost completely remove individuality and personalization.
People that want to DPS chase are always going to copy one another, builds etc. But the end goals should be reachable from multiple avenues with this many items, skills, traits etc. That is balance! Not a ship full of roms for most players.
A lot of people love this idea of the roms for their perks and have no qualms about filling their ships with them. Consider, that means everyone has similar/same ship bridge groups. You zeroed out individuality and straight killed RPG, bios, stories for ships etc.
But instead of just complaining, how about I offer an idea:
--Utilize-- *Elite Bridge Officer Training Token*.
You have already created this terribly underutilized and pricey game mechanic. So, Why-in-the-World did you not offer a randomized upgrade to the Boff's ((space)) abilities with the Token?
You gave them (one) ground "trait" slot. Which is entirely pathetic and fairly useless. This needs to be addressed.
If I have a Boff I wish to upgrade to Elite and they have Zero space traits (4 ground), as soon as I upgrade them to Elite, magically Elisa Flores (hah) ought to have 1 randomly chosen space "elite" skill added. Oh look, she adds a little CrtD now in space battles. Hurray! I'll take her on more TFO's... (Balance and Individuality) with 1000s of variables and personalization.
It's not that hard a concept.
Roms on every ship... who the heck was not thinking...

What a wasted opportunity for something as cool as personalization with an Elite Bridge Officer Training Token.
If only it was utilized in this way.
Ingame is where it's at and many agree.
They are just not posting here.
It's total nonsense and as I've already stated, the Elite Boff Token is where this needs fixed.
That expensive game item needs addressed to properly be used with everything already said and players ingame agree. An Elite boff needs to be able to contend with a blue or even purple cheap romulan boff.
Pretty dang simple.
So, it took you almost 11 years to notice...
Either way, the topic is not a good thing as-is.
It would be great if it could be rationalized and connected to Elite tokens.
Spending real world money for Zen/Elite tokens should be equal to or greater than a cheap fleet credit, Embassy Rom.
Not to mention the debate on creativity and more unique Boff sets vs. everyone all Rom.
I don't need to be right. Seems so though...
