I'm surprised the Devs made this one so easy. the quick and dirty way is to go to the voth battleground and capture a point. one and done. the description said an area i thought that was the whole third (city, park or outskirts). I started at the end of the city, there were 8 players in the zone.
or i should say, me and 7 campers in the zone. after I had captured the 4th point, I looked and the only blue points were the ones I had captured. I was about to move to a more populated instance, but I checked the progress and i'm good to go. So long, Campers
I hadn't even noticed that the battlezone is an option for the event. I headed straight to the queue list and did The Breach.
As fun as I think that mission is though, I will probably be going to the battlezone too then. Even fun missions become boring if you're asked to play them daily for 14 days in a row.
People have been complaining about campers at the V-Rex, so think of this as a means to temporarily get more activity in the zones besides silo camping.
Problem is the campers are getting more for camping because the zones are flipping quicker. People doing the event do all the work, the bots/campers get the T-Rex.
If i was a dev, i would switch the T-Rex zone to open PvP, then automatically switch it to PvE 10 seconds before the T-Rex appears. It wont get rid of them totally, but it will give everyone else a fair shot to at least get a few shots in on the t-rex before the bots/campers take it down...or alternatively, have the T-Rex appear in a random flipped zone, so everyone has to run to it.
"You know when that shark bites, with its teeth dear... scarlet billows start to spread..."
It's not too hard to help flip a zone, or to flip one yourself. I flipped one where you disable so many towers in the park area by myself in just a few minutes. And I don't do mega damage on ground cause I hate it and only equip enough stuff to get me through it.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
funny thing.. I beamed into where I left, and the rexes popped. I got to a rex, helped take him down, got the rewards, but I DID NOT get credit for the event. you HAVE to help flip a point

the only thing I can see not flipping a whole zone is the time it takes to flip the relays. I can do the omega generators and artillery pretty quick but the relays are slogging long
Yeah, the relays are slower to flip. I much prefer the artillary towers. Kill the Voth, pop 2 of the three things you need to do, rinse and repeat for all towers. Then repeat doing the final disabling. I do it this way so I don't risk a generator repairing since I don't do much ground and I'm by myself.
I also don't like the zone where you have to stand in a circle and avoid the grenades being launched at you while killing turrets and any Voth that come around. Those seem to take forever to go to a third, two thirds and done sometimes.
Now a LTS and loving it.

We've all seen it: players who use a combination of kit modules and ground traits to destroy a Voth Battlezone T-Rex so fast that nobody else gets credit for having hit it, even when the other players are standing right under the T-Rex when it spawns. (With the black cat transformation and personal transporter device, I've seen players who can do this in two T-Rex silos in a row... yay!) And, with the Voth Invictus event underway, we're going to be seeing it kind of a lot.
(Aside: kudos to the devs for making event progress contingent on assisting at a capture point, rather than with the T-Rexs. That decision makes T-Rex Blitzing an irritation, not an event-breaking hack. Thank you!)
But here's the thing. Most of us play STO because we like -- or love -- Star Trek. Whether we grew up with TOS, discovered DS9 in reruns, or stumbled onto Prodigy with our kids, most of us are Trekkies in one way or another. And one of the fundamental pillars of the Star Trek universe is the *spirit of abundance*. Star Trek explores what humans could be if only we could be assured that there was always "enough to go around." And the Star Trek conjecture is that, freed from the risk of dearth, many of humanity's worst impulses would diminish or vanish altogether. Most Trek fans, and most STO players, are fond of this idea. I'm fond of this idea.
There is plenty T-Rex to go around. Really. A dozen players can all get credit for helping to down a single T-Rex. The only obstacle is people racing to kill the T-Rex as fast as possible with blitz-builds. So... let's not do that. Let's plink away at the T-Rex with our phasers or whatever, and leave the ball lightning and earthquake powers in the holster.
Now, I'm sure a few players will object: blitzing the T-Rex maximizes their chance to blitz two or even three T-Rexes. Am I suggesting that they forego actual dilithium ore merely to be decent community members? Well... yes, I guess I am.
Am I asking people who "worked hard" to create their blitz builds to "coddle" the "losers" with their paltry DPS? Well... yes, I guess I am. Because STO isn't a game about winning and losing, and if you think your fellow players are "losers," I kinda think you're doing it wrong. But there's a great TV show you can watch if you want to learn to see the world differently.
Hopefully, before too long, the devs will devise and implement a technical solution to T-Rex blitzing. But in the meantime, we can "solve" the problem ourselves, simply by playing our Star Trek game in the spirit of Trek.

First time I went down I got into a zone, killed a couple Voth and the zone flipped. I got my credit for 'helping'
Repeat: You do not need to down a Rex to get your daily.
