Are console players on a seperate server from PC players?

I've been playing STO for a very long time, always on PC. My oldest boy and his friends recently started playing on X-Box. Can I join with them on missions? Can they join my fleet?

    Different servers for each one unfortunately..
    So no cross play between platforms..

    As stated, different servers, however the consoles and PC are also not running the same version. Console runs on average about 2-3 months behind PC.

    To further confuse matters, even the different consoles have different servers!
