Game makes my comp run hot

Is there a set up that would keep my comp from overheating. When I am in game the fan run constant and my computer still gets very hot. My other games does not have this problem. Any ideas how I should arrange my settings.

    I've seen a noticeable change in the recent updates where my fan will go absolutely mental for 10-15 minutes, which it's never done before with STO.
    No change in the settings or anything...

    That was why I mentioned what I did above...
    Ah, but if I'm running the game on my rig the same way it's been running for quite a while, why does the recent update(s) cause the difference in behaviour.

    I've noticed similar issues. I can run Cyberpunk on close to max settings. I don't think STO should make my fans run as hard as Cyberpunk

    There are now some zones in the game for whatever reason allow runaway FPS ala Amazon's New World, I noticed this some time ago and have limited my FPS as was previously pointed out.
