Hospital Pod

85erubjdqryf.jpg
This is the Hospital Pod, which is an item I'm hopin' the Star Trek Online developers will actually consider. As I look at the Advanced Research Vessel built with the Hospital Pod, I think to myself that if a Galaxy-class Dreadnought Cruiser was built with this pod instead of her central nacelle, we can in essence classify the battleship as a Galaxy-class Medical Dreadnought Cruiser. To me, that would be something to not only see but actually use on the program as well.

As that is a fan created pod... its off limits. Legal reasons.

Then the Sensor/Tactical Pod will have to do instead.

That actually would not be a bad reuse of assets to create something not unlike the Lexington on the Galaxy Frame. You could probably put either Nebula Pod or the Lex Pod on it. Heck that's the sort of clever thinking that the ship crew could pass back over to their friends for Picard Season 3.

Yet will the "Star Trek Online" developers actually equip a Galaxy-class Dreadnought Cruiser with a Sensor/Tactical Pod instead of her central nacelle? I'm not sure they will.

I do not see why they would considering both are fan creations also it kinda takes away from the Nebula class as is by doing so.
And doesn't this technically fall under FCT number 15 inclusion of fan designs bit.

But yeah honestly If there was any Hull modification in this style it would be nice to have the canon Melbourne class with the two smaller nacelles for the nebula the Galaxy dreadnought was never really designed to have a nacelle replaced with a pod of various types.

And another one that would confuse me the sheer size of a nebula classes internal volume, why would you need a external pod for medical uses it seems like it would be excessive compared to a internal medical bay?

But yeah i do not see any of these sort of things happening any time soon if ever honestly.

The medical pod wouldn't be needed under normal circumstances - it's for planetary disasters where medical facilities for hundreds of thousands of patients may be needed.

I don't see how "fan creations" or either pod for a Galaxy-class Dreadnought Cruiser are a problem.

Nevertheless, a Galaxy-class Medical Dreadnought Cruiser is the very starship I seek for this program. All the developers have to do is add either pod as an additional option so that players can decide whether to keep a central nacelle on the battleship or replace it with either pod.

Well the laws here and complex and there's a lot of parts where things aren't clear as to what is and isn't legal.

And it's a problem because technically fans own the copyright to their work aka a company can't just google fan made art work and use those without permission, though obviously the IP owners own the overall IP so fans can profit from their fan works but as I said it's very complicated.

If no one will create either pod and equip a Galaxy-class Dreadnought Cruiser with it at all, this talk is over. We're done.

Yet many companies do exactly that on a regular basis, chief among them being Disney.

I know, but it still doesn't make it legal and Cryptic doesn't have the lawyers Disney has so they're not willing to take the risk of getting sued because of using fan works without permission.

Its Literally in the FCT section of Asking for fan designs.

and like the Multiple other threads you have asked this in (and discords if my suspicion is correct) the result is always that they can not use fan designs, Look at star wars with them taking fan designs without permission and how that has been causing them issues.
If no one will create either pod and equip a Galaxy-class Dreadnought Cruiser with it at all, this talk is over. We're done.

Also I mean this in no offensive way but then if this is your response perhaps it might not be the best idea to keep posting the same thing and then when receiving the same response because this is the third thread you have posted on this topic and i'm afraid i do not see the answer changing any time soon or really any time at all.

Like I understand you like the design but there are many designs people would love to see that are more likely yet we still do not have them and as I said above it is literally part of the Frequently created threads section about fan designs.
