some seriously bad choices and issues this week...

hey @ambassadorkael#6946

id like to say this week was/is a TRIBBLE show for STO.

the new website is not great. too many moving parts, and has details i could care less about on the main page. yall might like continual loops of videos and such, but i dont. mileage may vary from myself to you and others, but for me it sucks.

then add the pathetic move to a new forum layout. thanks for getting the colors swapped around, but it still sucks.

the "new and improved" arc launcher seems to have caused tons of issues for many players across the spectrum. too many to list here, but damn...what a disaster. (i dont use arc, so it didnt effect me, but go look at the posts in the "new" forums about it) that said, it seems some people are also having issues with the exe launcher as well.

it seems yall didnt think this through well.

i sit here and laugh and shake my head in disbelief of how really bad yall screwed this up. it also causes my concern level to rise a bit. who da TRIBBLE thought this was a good idea?

hope i have not offended anyone by discussing my severe dislike for the update/new website/new forums.

meh

Web designers are in my experience some of the worst people on Earth for ignoring the aphorism "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Yep, i have to totally agree, its kinda like shopping at a store and knowing where everything is so you can go and get what you want quickly, then after so many years finding they have re-arranged every shelf and item and feeling totally lost and then having to spend more time than you want trying to find those items... urghhhhhhh.

Been thinking exactly the same thought since yesterday, If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!

I don't agree with everything the OP said or how it was said, but I do agree this is a really bad and unprofessional look for a game this old. This is some beta level nonsense going on here.

Yeah, NOT a fan of the new look for the forums or the website. There was a live stream recently which also didn't put the company in a great light, either, as the people came off a bit rude/angry.

I'm not really sure WHAT'S going on behind the scenes but it just seems like a big disconnect between the players and Cryptic since the Buyout. I'm just hoping it's a misunderstanding on my part and not a sign of things to come...

The player/dev disconnect has always been there, just Borty has gone super sayan on his martyr complex recently. No sympathy there especially when you say the "quiet part out loud". We know we're open/potentially open wallets to Cryptic but effectively telling us triible you, grind then" is not good PR.

This new forum is less than desirable too.

Nobody cares about console but we can't use our traits properly OR do much with our boffs.

The "server unavailable" message is still there despite them working now.

Overall, the art department needs a raise and everybody else a substantial cut. Money is all you care about so you can get less of it.

    Yeah.

Not a fan of the new forum design.

The ARC updater doesn't really matter to me, but the forums feel like a real downgrade.

Ya I agree the forums look like a 4 year old did them, something that you would do in an alpha launch of a game or forum.

I also want to mention the revamp of "assault on terok nor" is just horrible. The corridors are very small and your char looks like a giant in them, and it makes it difficult to move around and only one char can be in them, which causes bottlenecking, lag, and causes you to get caught on walls or pushed into objects. The part where you defend the hackers is annoying as there are a lot of boxes and other stuff in the way and the enemies often go behind walls or boxes, making it difficult to kill them without moving from your position, and thus having to run back and forth making that part take much longer then needed. The challenge is completely gone in the tfo, it was fun having to work out the code to get the force field down and being rewarded more marks for getting it done quicker. The fight with Leeta is way to easy and has no real challenge to it. The old boss fight presented a bit of a challenge to get her onto and keep her on the plates while they are being activated. This revamp is like "assault on terok nor for dummies and noobs," and it feels like the devs are mocking the players by dumbing down the tfo, and it's like they are saying, "you players arn't smart enough to work out the sequence and are not good enough to be able to get Leeta on the pads, here we will make it so you don't have to do that, because you are stupid." All in all the tfo is garbage and cryptic should bring back the old one with just one tweak, make the hacking part go faster so the optional can actually be completed.

I have been playing this game for about 11 years or so, and I can tell you this is the worst tfo revamp I have ever seen and cryptic should be ashamed of themselves. I also want to mention that revamping tfos is fine as long as the general goals remain the same and the tfo isn't completely changed to something entirely different. How about putting your efforts into new stuff rather then fixing things that arn't broken!? How about you revamp the salt vampire tfo, that you removed several years ago, into a 5 person tfo instead of 20 and allow people to complete the accolade for killing the salt vampires? Or you could make the accolade for the mark x omega and honored guard/maco automatically complete once you get the higher lvl ones, since you removed the set, or even just put it back in as a project in the rep so you can complete the accolade. There is a few somethings that are broken that you could fix! I was going to put some money into the game when I got my tax return this year, but if this is what I am going to see from now on I will keep my money and spend it on another game like star citizen!

Ditched a professional looking forum for the 'Reddit' type mash and trash page style. This is horrific and looks like an amateur made it!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I have to agree, the new forum format is all noise and lacks information necessary to coherently track threads.

Are these fourms now made more for mobile devices than a desk or laptop because they are just awful on the latter to try and navigate through.
