console`s boffs can`t apply most rep visuals?

so i`m on playstation and up until now my boffs have been put into uniforms matching the theme of they`re captain until now. this time i wanted to put an entire away team in matching armour and chose omega rep. so i went through the whole process of unlocking all the various sets and when finally done, fitted one to my captain. but when i came to apply the same to his boffs, nothing. no options on anything. now i`ve seen pics of full away teams from PC, so i knew it was possible. i then start searching the net for answers and found a few posts stating it just really isn`t available for console. but nothing official and certainly nothing explaining why the disparity. now i`m not expecting any dev`s to answer but i am hoping somebody can tell me why console boffs can`t apply most rep visuals when PC clearly can? and is it related to the fact that i wasted good lobi on the borg exoskeleton frame because it said it could be fitted to boffs but failed to mention to just PC`s boffs?

Admittedly, I don't know how or if the Tailor differs on Console vs PC, but have you tried looking under the Advanced -> Head tab? In the upper right-hand corner is a drop down menu, default label - Uniform. Under that you should find your Omega armor along with any other costumes you have that may require a special category.

thank you for replying. there is no uniform option in the advanced head tab. the only uniform drop down is in it`s own advanced tab but i have been through every single option there and no omega or maco parts of any kind.

Here is the answer as far as I understand it.

There is a major disparity between the tailor for BOFFs on PC and on console. You know how your captain's tailor has different uniform categories like uniform, off-duty, and omega rep armor? On PC, their BOFFs also get most of those categories (not off-duty though). On console, our BOFFs do not have the additional categories, only the default uniform category.

What this means is that costume pieces that can only be accessed in those other categories (Omega armor, Borg exoskelleton, etc.) cannot be worn by BOFFs on console.

This is the way it has been since console launch. There have been many tickets and forum threads complaining about this oversight, but it has never been even mentioned by the devs. They did a real half-assed job porting the game to console, and the BOFF tailor is one of the glaring examples.

wow thanks, this answer is both awesome and shocking. awesome in that you actually sound like you know what your talking about and makes sense. shocking as in how this hasn`t been addressed in so long and notice i didn`t say surprised though. i`ve had a taste of this when the klingon recruit first came out and a large part involved cloaking but that particular mechanic was hopelessly bugged for us, for yrs in fact. i saw thread after thread dating back many yrs asking for it to be fixed and then they dropped that event. the outcry from that finally got it fixed but imagine my surprise when i hear on tenforward at the time, that it`s a new bug. hence the lack of surprise now and lack of faith they even know it`s a problem. anyway thanks again.

wow, really didn`t expect any traction here but also very appreciated. the pessimist in me is not expecting much or anything soon but the knowledge that they`re definitely aware and potentially looking into a fix is so much better than years of being ignored. so thank you.
