I cannot get back into my main ship after the "vault" mission

Ok, how do I get back into my bird of prey after the vault mission. I seem to be stuck in my fighter. I tried to switch ships in the shipyard with no success. please help

    make sure on the select screen there is two options to set active, small craft and starships above the but slots button. choose the starship one.
    or you could try dry docking the shuttle which will auto select it

    You can do the switch in space.. just open you ship tab, select the ship you want, and that should fix it..
