Aside from buying keys... how do you get EC in this game?

    - Admiralty and endeavors give a decent steady amount.
    - Selling white quality duty officers. You can also often make money by buying 1 green doff, exchanging it for 3 white doffs at the personnel officer, then selling the 3 whites.
    - Romulans, park at Romulus Command and do the bridge officer recruitment missions. Sell the Rare and VR ones with Superior Romulan Operative trait
    - Tour the Galaxy once a day
    - Exchange PvP against other players ;) (buy low, sell high)

Buy low sell high. Otherwise, you're contributing to inflation by creating EC.

Do Patrols like Kinjer which spawn alot of enemies over time. Sell that loot to any bartender for the best return. Best to buy Inventory slots to max to reduce how often you'll need to sell.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Nobody will give away their bigger ways but there are regular income streams most people use.

Contraband farming, it does involve making KDF toons of course, which some are strangely allergic to.

Patrol, loot and sell. I usually get full after a few. Sell rep box stuff along the way too.

This one involves a little gambling and on PC is very dil heavy but convert dil to zen, buy Delta doff packs and hope you get purple doffs and/or scramble fighters. The latter gets 200 mil easy on console. Jarok hype and all.

Slower way is buy and flip on the exchange. If you have a lot of time, then search carefully for people who forgot a zero on their listings.

Those are some of the better known ways.

With this one, you'd be much better off waiting for a promo ship event to buy delta doff PROMO packs and just sell those straight up.

True enough, forgot about those TBH.

Patrols take too long at elite level... And at elite level I die 20+ times per fight. I ran a patrol and got 50 reputation marks... I ran it again at elite level, and only got 15... risk isn't worth it for the reward. And 2 runs I only made about 200k EC... not enough. How do people make billions in this game of EC?

buying and selling key or using keys to get ships then selling ships. there is no other way to quickly get that much ec, everything else takes a long time.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

I have strong attack, but defense sucks... sheilds go down too fast and don't regen fast enough. Working on getting Tier V discovery shields. Right now I'm running Aegis Covariant Shield Array MK XV [C/R] [Cp/Rg]. 10,622 are my shield strength...and I feel squishy.

Once you get the Disco shield, match it up with the core and you get a massive hull regen boost.

Shields are mostly worthless anyway but you want resilient shields over any other. Just for the reduced bleedthrough alone.

Not to mention the endeavour bonuses add up too.

Other methods include making and selling R&D items, (Omni beams, Aegis set items, TR-116B) selling stuff you get from lockboxes but won't use, or even selling lobi stuff. Like ships. Some people may sell T6 lockbox ships or Promo ships too. T5 Infinity lockbox ships aren't worth so much, but by the same token aren't as expensive to buy.

Some people used to farm Omega stuff to sell on exchange, but they can't do that anymore.

If you're looking to make billions, loot drops and white doffs won't really cut it. They are pocket change in comparison. To make big bucks you have to hit the exchange.

There's no hard and fast way to make a profit from the exchange. A lot of the things I made money on, like R&D doffs or upgrades, are pretty worthless now, and the way I make ec these days requires a lot of investment. Find something meta that you can afford with a lot of variation in its price and as people keep saying, buy low and sell high. You'll have to figure out for yourself what that something is for you right now. Try looking for stacks of items you can break up and sell individually at a higher price. I used to make a lot of cash doing that with kemocite. To begin with you'll only make small profits, but then you can move on to more expensive items with bigger returns.

Above all, be patient. The only sure way to get space rich quick is to throw real world cash in.
