Game crash on login screen [Steam]

in PC Gameplay Bug Reports
My game crashes when I navigate to the in game login screen. This just started happening after the 'Shadow's Advance' update had launched. I submitted a support ticket and it seems that it is currently a bug for Steam users.

As of now I'll wait for a patch, but I was wondering if anyone else has been having the same issue?

    There seems to be an issue this morning with Captains who launch the game via Steam and linked their accounts - the game crashes when they attempt to log out. We're working on a fix, but you can launch the game via the exe file in your steamapps/common/startrekonline folder.

    Bring up the launcher via the startrekonline.exe in your game files and click on Options then click on Safe Mode and save. You'll have to reset your graphics options. I've confirmed with a couple of player who have the same issue that this works fine.

    Alrighty, I will give that a try. I ended up installing the game through Arc as well because I wanted to grab the free captain upgrade token as so forth.
