  You can also buy many items from lock boxes and the lobi store in the "reward packs" section of the Exchange, for EC. You can then (very carefully!) send them to the friend by email. Have them send you an email, save it, then reply to it. If you mistype the "to" address your item could be gone forever.
  
  You can convert zen to EC by buying lock box keys and selling them for EC.
