i was wondering if anyone knew witch one was better between the Piezo-Polaron Beam Array and the colony beam weapon's they both have the same procs however one is based on 2.5% regen and the other is bases on crit severity.
Piezo-Polaron has double the chance of happening - 5% proc chance instead of 2.5%, making it actually happen enough to be useful on a FAW build. Also it has a decent, though not outstanding Lukari Restoration Initiative Armaments set (2-part, tolerable 3-part,) that goes along with it. A bit more damage potential too, as it doesn't loose a modifier to [Proc].
Additionally, on a 100k hull vessel and 220% Critical Severity it looks like the Piezo-Polaron does more hull healing (close to double if I have the math right), which seems to be far more favored than shields when it comes to tanking.
The advanced piezo weapons also have another special effect called Technical Overload if you use Beam Overload that does electrical AoE damage. I use BO a lot and it increases the damage of the beam array by about 25% for me.
