flickering black boxes overlaying space explosions for a month now

for one frame i get a massive black box that engulfs half the screen whenever a ship explodes it started with the damage modeling update and hasnt stopped i spoke with support and they say its a dev matter its been a month and im getting discouraged because i cant really play i get on i do the winter race and i have to stop the constant bright black strobing gives me a headache after 15 min any news on a fix or workaround would be greatly appreciated
